Super ironic, I’m doing a crank sleeve and front seal on mine tomorrow. I was really wondering how to use the clear sleeve. Thanks so much for the info, you’re a badass.

This video Melissa reminded me of what we were taught in diesel mechanic school in the 1980s about centering flywheel housings using a dial indicator. Apparently a number of manufactures omitted the dowel pins to save $ during manufacturering of engine blocks. If you don't center flywheel housings using dial indicator you WILL have rear main seal destroyed and clutch problems. I've no idea if Cummins 5.9 is dowled or not. But since you are teaching in your videos, maybe touch on that fact. Good videos as always!

I replaced mine when I did the dowel pin thing. I didn’t have the tool for proper depth placement, I just eyeballed the thing from corrosion and marks. Wish I would have had the tool. Good video!

That is very good to know if I have a Dodge to work on I will remember that. Thanks for sharing that useful information on this video. You have a wonderful day.

If you install the seal from the front with a hammer, you distort the cover a.k.a. bend the cover causing the seal to run crooked and that's why it leaks. I built myself an installer to do them from the front with ultimate care and using the balancer bolts to press the seal in. Works but it's best to install them from the backside like you did. 👍

You're the only girl I know who looks good in coveralls. Did you get them tailored?
One mechanic to another, try Dr. Squatch. I know, I know, it's naturally so it's hippie shit. No... my ex bought me a bar, I thought o fuckin great, throw it in the pile of Chinese tools she got me a few years back. Well I tried it. Fucking works , works awesome. No bull shit. I get into grease, oil, diesel, solvent, daily. We all know grease from a clutch housing is the absolute worse thing in the world to get off. Pine tar will do it. I dont ever talk about stuff that's good, I just talk shit about garbage products. But pine tar has surprised me so much, just try it.

not trying to be a critic or a mechanic, damper, learned the hardway to the tune of a full rebuild on a 3406 e that broke the crank, according to my research, the balancer is a critical part and should be replaced on a scheduled amount of hours and or inspected for damage from rocks etc. Whats your opinion? Your vids are really good

Wow, you are exactly correct. About everything you said. So I gotta ask, are the seals that come with the wearsleeve kit a bigger size? Or are they the same with a different part # on box and seal? I bet you know.

I just did one it's all the same, also I could be wrong but I think there is a stop lip in side of the 6.7 it's been a few weeks since I've done it, so don't judge me on it
