Those old Macks are great. We have several of the older U, R, RD, and CH models still in our fleet. We don't use them for our OTR tractors to haul combinations (which we do a lot of), but we DO stretch the chassis on them and mount equipment bodies, where they then go out onto industrial sites and perform work. You could drive one with a Class B. In those applications, they don't guzzle nearly as much fuel as they would over the road, except to the extent that they idle high to power a PTO. We keep them though, because they're ultra reliable, simple, and you can still get most of the parts for them, even at 40 years and older. Hell, we've recently ordered windown felts for a U model, and that's older than the one you're driving here. You can easily order replacement knobs and linkage and all those other obscure items that are typically the first parts to become discontinuted. There's even new/old stock out there. Those trucks rock.

Some 20 years ago I did that test pick of the grains by hand and then tested it for suitable use. I don't know if the video was edited so it didn't show how many different spots it was taken on or not, but just a small wagon, maybe 1/5 of your trailers size I had to take at least 5. We had to look out for ergot. Btw, did you know ergot is closely related to LSD, since it contains lysergic acid, but not diethylamide which the D stands for in LSD. There is however other alkaloids in ergot which makes it dangerous.
