Something was missing from all the other people teaching math topics like conic sections. They seemed to teach "Here's the formula, follow it like this, do this, do that, here's the solution." but my thinking wanted to know why or how, what were the reasons for these different conic sections and how do they relate. I wish I would have discovered your channel earlier this semester, finals are coming in less than two weeks and there are so many gaps in my understanding that my professor and other youtube videos didn't help me understand. I don't just want to follow the lead of someone who has done the problems thousands of times and skims through them effortlessly with no explanation of the theory or meanings. Returning back to the classroom after a few decades to pursue a degree has been a struggle, I'll definitely be returning for future topics. Your teaching helped fill the void my thinking was stuck on. Thank you, your channel will now be my go-to for future topics. Thank you.

@@kristineclaireapostol3757 I'll take a guess at it ... If you cut the cone, like he said, perfectly level you'll get a circle. If you move it down then you'll get a bigger circle, and if you move it all the way to the bottom of the cone you will get the biggest circle that specific cone can produce. However, if you move it all the way to the top, then you'll get the smallest circle this cone can produce.

take note, if we equate Earth's Ve to our car, then 11.2 / sec = 672 mi/hr :: that is fast (just to escape Earth's gravity)
