Hi Hunter this IS quite easy. Just did it in 1 hour and 45 minutes. the wires on the starter was the most difficult part in my opinion. Thanks for the info about rotating the solenoid to remove the starter.

Yeah, anytime I see "remove this exhaust part", I know I'm in for a very bad time. Kudos to you for getting that apart w/o shearing the bolts. I'd rather take half the front suspension apart than touch rusted, heat seized exhaust bolts.

Hes right its easy to do it this way. The only thing is suggest is removing the muffler hangers for more flexibility. Youll need 17, 15, 16 and 13mm sockets. 15 mm wrench as well.

Lol. At that time I had emptied my cats because the combs broke loose and were rattling in the pipes. Few months after this, i did long tube headers, high flow cats, x-pipe, and duals out the back. I modified spark plugs non-faulers and put them on the O2 sensors to trick the computer into thinking the cats were still there so it would run right.
@DanielDroegeShow2 ай бұрын
@@hunterbates1561 I wish that still worked on newer cars. The computer tests the sensors periodically and won't work. IDK what people will do when their emissions warranties are up and CA cats are $2-$3k.

If you're exhaust bolts are all rusted out, please don't attempt this. Just take the steering column out. Which imo is way easier anyway. Those bolts WILL break, and then you'll have a nightmare on your hands. 😅

When you remove the cables from the starter be very careful with the single signal wire. The connector is made of really brittle plastic. It just pulls off but its gonna be brittle.

I just did this job if you have headers you won't have to take exhaust off. You just have to move shift cable and a/c line and slide starter right out. But that's only if you have headers.

Okay so great video first off second I managed to just take off the exhaust where it meats the engine and push it up out the way just enough to squeeze that starter out and same to get in but what I had issues with is the bolts that go back on the stater up stop and the little tab you have to push back that sits in between the stater but once I got that everything was cake also helps if you have small or skinny hands I have non of those my hands are big and fat so lucky my nephew can in couch 😂 but very bull Sh*** engineering

No gasket between the starter and bell housing. There may or may not be a starter shim if your old one needed it.

@@jordanchamberlain4377 my original did not have a shim so I did not add one and it was properly engaging. If the starter engages fine without the shim than no worries. The shim is to ensure proper engagement of the bendix on the flywheel teeth if its extending past the flywheel.
