@@Alchemist39 Same here in Marquette MI. People from all over the country moving here. We locals can't afford housing now as prices have tripled or more in last few years. And they keep coming. Winters might do some in, though, esp CA and TX folks. Lol

@@williebeamish5879 Yup exactly the same here! Literally everything you just said. Funny I have an aunt and uncle that moved from grand rapids to CO in the early 2000's. They're actually thinking about moving back to MI. But it's just like you said 🤷🏻♂️ Well, I was recently reading an article about the last census done. Comparing population of a neighboring sister state Wyoming to Colorado. WY has 580,000 people vs 5.8 million in CO. Yeah that's tenfold. Not a typo!

That's because no one wants to live in Wyoming. I remember being newly-arrived to CO and meeting tons of people from WY. I arked one why so many lived in CO now. She said, "Have you ever BEEN to Wyoming in the winter?? Eventually I was there in the winter. I'd leave, too. It's hell on earth.

Ii’m glad everyone seems to be okay! I completely understand how they feel. First, is shock. Then you check on your neighbors and enter survival mode. You get to work securing what you can and figure out where you’re spending the night if you can’t stay in your home. The next day, you go into clean up mode. Later, you’ll experience all the emotions you’ve stuffed down because you couldn’t deal with them at the time. In 2016, we were hit by a supercell storm that sent softball sized hail flying through all of our front windows and roof. It was terrifying. We had four cats so we had to get everything secured before they came out of hiding and got loose. We were lucky enough to have neighbors with trucks who got to Lowe’s in time to get plywood and screws so all our homes were secured before the sun went down but, boy was it scary. When the emotions hit, it was just a flood of tears.

Most of Colorado's tornadoes are out on the Eastern Plains and not in the Front Range so it limits the overall damage, but there was a bad EF-3 tornado back in 2008 that cost $148 million in property damage in Weld county. In fact, Weld county averages the most tornadoes per year in the country! So far today's rating is EF-1, but that could change as more reports of damage come in.

Someone needs to start a Tree replanting business. Most of those evergreens and a couple of the other larger trees just need to be deeper. Just go in dig a deeper hole about 10 ft down, add some clean soil. break up that knotted root ball so it can start to root and drop in. Would save so many trees and stop creating more debris for the landfill.

Some of the same people that are shocked (shocked!) by the frequency and severity of extreme weather continue to deny man-made climate change despite the pleas of exasperated climate scientists worldwide for us to transition away from fossil fuels. They've been predicting this for decades and now that it's here it's amazing to watch people with severe cognitive dissonance literally choke on smoke while continuing to mindlessly parrot fossil fuel industry talking points.
