CHEROKEE, Iowa - Significant Flooding along the Little Sioux River along US-59 shows homes under water with emergency personnel continuing to do boat rescues. Kayakers are out and about making their way in to check on properties in the area as well.

I lived on Wheeling Island in the middle of the Ohio River when it has flooded.I know how devastating flooding can be terrible situation for these people

We were wondering who's drone that was. My Dad, some family and myself pulled out the kayaks to go check downtown. Clean up has started on my parent's home. We're trying to make the best out of the situation.

Just when you think you have removed everyone from harms way (removal of homes after 1993), nature throws a big curve ball, powered by global warming, perhaps. I grew up in a neighboring town, so this is sad to see. Best wishes to all affected. Denny

I was born and grew up in that quaint little town. I saw more than a few floods in my years there but this one looks like the worst.
