06 Hyundai tiburon ticking noise.

Madmax, its definitely not the serpentine belt idler pulley causing the ticking noise. I replaced a bad serpentine belt idler on my 2003 Tiburon GT for a noise issue and you'll know if that goes bad when you hear a howling grinding noise. I would say to quiet down that tick noise in the engine is put a quart of Lucas oil stabilizer when you do an oil change.

It was the idler pulley on mine. I pulled the belt off and it quit making the noise. Replaced the tensioner pulley and idler pulley and it solved my issue

I’m not sure what you mean by similar? Like the clicking noise? Or similar engines? I’d say it would be, I’d just pull of the belt and see.

What did you take off

I took off the serpentine belt and the ticking stopped. So I replaced the tensioner pulley and the idler pulley and it solved my problem

Kinda stupid question I guess but here it goes, is it normal for these engines to have a very slight clicking or ticking kinda sound? Also is there such a thing as too much heat coming from the engine in the engine bay?

Sorry I’m just now seeing this. I’d say it’s normal as long as it’s not super loud. And as long as your temperature gauge is where it’s supposed to be I would let it be unless it’s causing problems under the hood
