I know this is an older video i've always been paranoid about my 2.7 ticking. this video has taught me that mine is not ticking at all. this is a demonstration of what real ticking is.

It sounds exactly as the first time. Timing belt does not eliminate lifter noise.

I like your story. I bought mine as well from this one guy for a grand and he also took it from a kid who owed rent.

The hyundai g6ba delta engine is notorious for valve lifter tick. To get rid of it add Marvel mystery oil to crankase before an oil change. Follow instructions on the bottle. My 2.7 is as quite as a mouse

I am having the same problem after oil change. What should i do?
@randalltaylor37003 жыл бұрын
@@adnansgarage first you should always use a Hyundai filter. Theirs a TSS addressing engine knock with aftermarket filters. Second the 2.7 Delta engine is notorious for hydraulic lifters sticking. To fix this issue add Marvel mystery oil to crankcase before an oil change. Follow instructions on the bottle. Makes first Gen's as quite as a mouse

I have heard that the oil pump can cause the ticking to occur in tandem with the HLAs, especially when the car has been left to sit.

My 02 Santa Fe had that problem when I let it sit for a year. I think the lifters were sticking. I did an oil change and drove it for a couple hundred miles and it went away.

Can you help why my car sounds like air is coming out from like back of the engine and when I try to turn it on it only keeps up when I press on the gas and then it sounds like something pops

Sorry....im not sure. I dont hate this car anymore. Sold it a long time ago....but i do remember mine had that sound at one time too. Seems lime it was something to do with the throttle body or even the mass air flow sensor unit area.

What did you use to pull out the crank case and pully? I'm in the same process and got stuck trying to get bottom cover out. Any help will be appreciated!

I did not have to remove the crank case to change water pump, lash adjusters or to reset timing. Only had to remove crank case pully...it may be a bit difficult but a little wd 40 on the back side may help. "Try not to get it on the timing belt or pully surface. I just used both hands & pulled alternately on each side until it came off....there is an alignment pin that may need lubricating as well.

Does the 2.7 have that issue in 2004 ? Thx !!
@scotthorton29112 жыл бұрын
I would imagine it does. Main thing to avoid it it to use the correct weight of oil and exact OEM oil filters for the car. Dont let it go long periods without starting the vehicle. This car sat for several months without starting….and cheap non OEM oil filter used.

My 2006 has 73000 on it, but I have a sound like a loose pulley and goes quiet when it gets to running temp. Any idea?
@KnotTellnChartersVirginiaBeach3 жыл бұрын
To me that sounds like a belt maybe slightly loose or even the tensioner pulley that puts pressure on your serpentine belt… I would probably replace both. If your serpentine belt has never been replaced it’s about time at 73,000 miles anyways. Probably only about $20 more for the tensioner pulley

I know this is a really old video but could someone point me in the right direction I bought a 2003 tiburon v6 gt 2.7l auto I got it 10 minutes from my house and it has 148000 miles it ran so quite the kid already had it running when I got there I know red flag he said the battery was dead and he was letting it charge anyways engine was so quiet car was in decent shape he said it needed a power steering pump but ended up needing the hose it had a pinhole. It had sat for several months. So I bought it for my son who just started college. Got it home 10 minutes straight trip. I let it sit for a few hours and checked the oil completely dry of oil so I went ahead and done a oil change in it it stills ran super smooth and quite. So we had to put new tires and struts on the front a couple days had went by and I went out to start it and the battery was dead so I charged it and when I started it it now sounds like this almost like a rod knock would it start rod knocking instantly like this or would it be oil pump or oil pick up or the timing any help is greatly appreciated. Like I said it ran great and quite let it sit for 2 days and it now instantly sounds like the car in the video and it gets louder when you give it gas it sounds like it’s coming from the front head but can’t really tell any info is appreciated.

These cars are notorious for the lash adjusters ticking. Was the oil filter you took off a Hyundai filter? Did you use a Hyundai filter. These cars demand it. Use of any other filter can cause the oil to not lift to the top of the motor properly. He may have added a heavy oil to the running motor before you arrived to quiet the tick. Hard to get rid of once it has happened. I drove the crap out of this car even with the tick and it drove forever and I sold it and the kid is still driving it.

Ur oil filter has alot to do with the ticking noise
@KnotTellnChartersVirginiaBeach6 жыл бұрын
Joaquin corzo ....actually it doesn’t...I use only Hyundai filters & had one on at this time....so that is not always the truth. The kid that had it before me didn’t always use Hyundai filters.....& the car had sat for well over a year without being started which allowed all oil to drain from the cams & lash adjusters......but during this video everything was as it should have been. I still can get all the ticking to quiet.....all lash adjuster replaced with new. but it runs & drives like a champ. Just have to deal with some ticking.
