Firstly, thank you for speaking English. It was great to hear your story. You are doing well. Your children will always remember your times together, rather than holes in the walls, however temporary. Do you and your husband speak French? Your lovely children will learn quickly enough no doubt. I notice others who have moved, learn the language on line and love that way of doing so. Gaining confidence quickly to communicate with other lpeople. I look forward to your progress. You have done well so far. Best wishes from Australia.

Thanks Suzie, We have indeed chosen English so that we can let more people enjoy it, because few people can understand Dutch . We also watch other KZbin channels of people who have done this. Ooo that great woodfloor from the boys bedroom... you took that away? Why
@petitrevefrance
@petitrevefrance Жыл бұрын
Yes it had to come out unfortunately. A large part was full of mold on it and underneath on the concrete as well. I think because the previous owners had put a vinyl floor over it. Several boards were also missing already. In our own room it is also there. But unfortunately exactly the same there and our health is most important so he will go out there too. But maybe we will reuse the part that is still good in another place in the house with less floor space. After all, we haven't thrown it away yet.

Do you find renovating a house stressful ? I did 3 houses in my life . I had always wanted to do it and found it very satisfying. The first 2 were when I was married and I wonder looking back whether the stress contributed to my marriage breakup . The last one I did alone but had builders in to do it , and lived in rented accommodation until it was ready . So less stressful. Kay

We haved living together in 5 houses, and 3 of them where renovating projects. We love it. Everything rebuilding ourselfs to our own ideas. Sometimes it can be stressful but one step at the time.

@@petitrevefrance Yes I'm glad you didn't find it too stressful. I think I wasn't good at managing stress in those days . Kay

You didn’t show the final interior of the entire house. I just spent all this time watching you work on it and I’m so unsatisfied not to see how it turned out!!

Kathleen all the rooms are not finished yet, we only show the progress of what we did on it till now in a half year sinds we got the keys😅 The room of fleur is the only one who is kind of finished and haves somes furniture, but need some painting and wallpaper. In a few weeks we hope finally to show some results of a room who is fully finished and decorated.

In the 2 and 4 episode on our channel we give a tour of the house, with how the house looks inside..Mostly before we started renovating the rooms. On the long term the house gonna looks so different than now, but we did it all the things ourselfs, so that's the reason why nothing is finished yet.

I wish that I and my family had moved to the South of France, East or West , when Britain was in the EU. Now I am much too old and my children have flown the coop.

That's a real shame you never did. It's so beautiful here. Hopefully a lot of your other dreams did come true.

What a lovely story, and you have done so much. But you and your husband need to be wearing filter masks when sanding and demolishing all that. Please be careful.

I like your content but the background music needs to be changed or lost altogether. It's unpleasant - too fast and too loud for such a relaxing, nice voice as yours. I found I needed to turn the volume down and put on closed captions.

Everything we demolish we reuse in other places. Insulation that was on the floor will return to the ceiling. The old wooden 70s ceiling was used as a fence outside.
