I did the trip in coach all the way, Boston - Chicago - Seattle in 4 days; I am sure roomette will be nice but it was totally fine with me being in coach. In terms of food: I brought 3 cans of soup, 2 bags of regular-size trail mixes, and a loaf of Killer Dave bread. There was reliable drinking water on board coast to coast. On the last day, a fellow passenger I befriended with on the trip said he usually have a dinning car breakfast the last day, so I went with him, and I had a $20 breakfast in the dinning car, and he was right - it was a great experience at reasonable cost. Boston to Chicago was on time; Chicago to Seattle was late by 3 hours due to heat related speed restriction through North Dakota and Montana. I made a few friends on the trip, and it was a lovely experience - I definitely will do it again.

I was waiting for comments about the trip. Coach or roomette, food, sleeping other stuff like that. The music and comments were good. I hope your trip went well and was relatively on time.
