1 year contained bue to covid and no flat land in Oslob Philippines from flying my paramoter. But now new landing excavation to the main landing site are completed I am looking forward to cranking up the top 80.

Top 80. Great little motor! I have same situation in north Florida, no place decent to fly, just trees everywhere!

Great video! When you said unexpected amount of torque is it worse than a gas engine?

This was my first flight with it, and I flew it it in "Sport" mode where it allows the throttle to access 100% of the power. I should have flown it in "Chill" mode on the first flight. Chill allows the throttle to access about 70% of the power, so, it is a bit easier to control the throttle....a bit smoother. The power is very linear.....no delay at all as with an "ice" motor. So, to answer your question, if you are use to this throttle and power and your throttle control is very precise, Sport mode is fine.....but for a first flight on this machine, I do not recommend Sport. The next day I flew Chill mode.....no problem at all. I like the immediate response on the electric better than the delayed response on "ice" units.....the power is always there....I just need more flights with it. With the immediate power of this unit and the 140cm three blade e-prop, torque on takeoff is more pronounced if it is not managed properly. Sorry for the long answer, but this is how I perceive it. how did you get this ozone spyder in blue and white? i am buying one tomorrow but the standart color options suck
@10661956 Жыл бұрын
That's the original Spyder. At the time, it was a standard color combination. For my Spyder3 24 meter, I ordered it "custom"....which is a little extra.

It is worth the wait. I would order a custom color for a little extra.....or order a BGD wing from Phil. Here is a link to the Ozone configurator: flyozone.com/paramotor/products/gliders/spyder-3/

Hi, a few weeks on how is the SP140 doing? A bunch of us here in N CA are thinking about buying. Any issues come up? What is your longest flight time?
@106619563 жыл бұрын
I'm about 200# all geared up and fly a Spyder26. Also, I am 65 and just enjoy cruising around. My flights are about 40 minutes, but I land with lots of battery left....just being overly cautious. I probably could get the hour flight time out of the battery, but the last 10 minutes would be over the LZ. Other than damage from pilot error on landing on wet grass, I am pleased with the build. Don't make nil wind landings on wet grass! 🤣

Are electrics a lot lighter?
@106619563 жыл бұрын
No, but the SP140 has no vibration, no maintenance and way more instant power than an "ice" unit. As battery tech gets better, they will be lighter. My unit with the 1 hour battery weighs in about 70#.....about 10lbs heavier than my Tornado 280 with gas and reserve.....but it is absolutely worth it! The future is now. Bill

Love electric! Much safer than gas, just wish it'd last longer!
