The toque spec for the Durolast Gold linkage bolt is 20 foot pounds. Just did mine yesterday and the included instructions gives that spec. Nice video!

It has more pressure on the rubber than it should…. If you torque it right it helps on the long run… it’s like over tightening a screw messes up the threads.

Driving for over a year now and no issues. It’s actually very poor quality lol. Autozone sucks!! Need to buy from a NAPA next time.

I just did mine on 08 avalanche and I still hear the poping sound every time I make a sharp turn especially on the right side, I used compact driver and I’m thinking I might have left it too tight ! Or could it be something else?

Was getting oil changed in '09 Suburban 4x4 and dude noticed that link on left side was totally gone. Yeah drove kinda squirrelly but thot something wrong in the rear. Yeah, I'm a dumbass. Also kept hearing a noise when i pulled out. Uh, i pull out kinda quick. Was at another shop gettin tire fixed and told THAT dude what it was doin and he said it's not in the rear, you gotta motor mount busted. Said it was very common but a bitch to fix. He was right. Was glad to see that jack stand. Pretty good vid. L8r. Update: 7-04-2022....it gets better. Just got around to getting that motor mount replaced last Thursday. No one wanted to fool with it. Also that rod that holds the upper and lower sway bar together OR just the the sway bar to the vehicle. BUT the icing on the cake is i didn't know the Suburban was equipped with the marvelous option/plague of the engine running on all 8 cylinders until all that massive horsepower not needed and the engine drops back to only 4, FOUR, cylinders. I didn't even know that existed. We had a Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz back in the day and that 4-6-8 engine didn't work then and an 8 and 4 don't work now. Also know why 4 cylinders are not offered in Suburbans. Oh yeah, it got STUCK in the 4 cylinder mode. Didn't say "limp mode" just an engine icon blinking and no power. Couldn't find anyone to work on that either. Our old school mechanics are quickly disappearing. I finally mention the Suburban to an old friend who has a shop that usually builds race cars for folks or does restorations and he told me to bring it on up. Had the sway bar fixed in bout 30 minutes. Needed for engine to cool off to get at the motor mount. I had checked out a couple motor mount vids on here and looked bad. I musta looked bad too. Heat index was over a 100 and due to some, ok, a bunch of medical issues i hadn't been out much this summer. Those months in Panama and Nicaragua core endurance have deserted me. My friend drove me up to my son's, a new dad and father of my only grandson, body shop so i coukd get cooled off. So i got the Suburban at that shop after lunch. By 4pm he had everything fixed, including the stupid 4 cylinder thing. He cleared all the codes and killed the engine swapping back and forth. Only other options were to take it to a shop that supposedly paid big bucks for a program to do it or tear engine down and replace the cam and a bunch of other stuff. My friend did it with his computer some how. If you have one of these POS Suburbans read up on the possible downsides to the far simpler delete option. The engine is supposed to have a high volume oil pump that GM also cursed it with that can cause problems. Main thing, especially if you're buying a used one is that they ate very sensitive to type of oil used. It calls for thin synthetic and ain't kidden. Pretty sure that started my problem. Oldest son was driving it and got thr oil changed. Doubt he opted for the more expensive synthetic. Also my friend did some computer magic by adjusting the fuel/air mixture at certain RPMs and some other "stuff" and rund bout twice as good. Wife wants to head out to Daytona with 10 and 3yr old granddaughters and didn't want to go in her E series Mercedes because of the lack of a lot of room and youngest son Zane that paints on Texas Metal wouldn't let me borrow his Rolls Royce Ghost. A few years old but i get it. I drive down at nite and would try to break my Chattanooga area to Daytona record of little over 7hrs with that twin turbo V12 Rolls. Suprisingly not that much more room tho. I'll tell why i can't take the limo i bought just for hauling the grandbabies around on the next episode of "The Stupid Shit i Do". rick in Tennessee. Sadly all those multi displacement on demand system in vehicles don't have good service information most manufacturers treat them like they will last for the life of the vehicles in my opinion those system only work reliably for 100k miles if oil is serviced every 3-5k miles but after 100k I think a complete over haul is required for another 100k miles trouble free use but people just want to drive their vehicles and only spend the least amount of money
