hi Kevin, I have a question about type design terminology that I want to ask you since my native language is not English or European languages. I recently learned about the difference between "font" and "typeface" But I would like to know under what circumstances would the word "type" be used instead? e.g. "I enjoy designing logos and types." Can the "types" here be changed to "typefaces"?

Hello, and thank you for your question. in short, yes, it would be correct to say "typefaces" here, in any context where you are referring to the design of typefaces. However, I think it is also equally appropriate to use "font" here as well. In a contemporary sense, both "typeface" and "font" are appropriate when describing the act of making them. I use either term depending on who I am talking to. If speaking to designers or people who know more about typography, I use "typeface", in more general situations, "fonts".
