bought my daughter a super clean 08 h3 a few months ago, had to fix the sunroofs leaking gutter tubes, and had this rattling issue. After watching this video I fixed the rattling with a hose clamp in 1min....thanks!

Dude I cannot thank you enough my dude. I was worried I killed another transmission. Was getting the loud rattling in drive mostly and occasionally in reverse. So I was thinking transmission problem. Sure enough the same heat shield was broke except it was rattling against the transmission which makes sense it primarily rattling in drive as that’s when the transmission is working.

I do not have a video of it making the noise but it was a very loud rattling noise every time I would accelerate.

Eduardo Aguilar it’s a custom fabricated lift with a solid axle swap

Do you have to replace the broken heat shield if there is no extra lift?

Roxy Too the reason I say this Is because I had such a high lift on that H3 that’s it’s a lot of stress and heats up the transmission more than a stock H3 would so I want all the protection from heat that I can get

Same with mine. I thought for a whole year my Hummer was gunna take a shit on me because I keep hearing the rattling noise and no one could tell me what it was.
