@@RobaldamasThat was addressed in another video. He’d rather focus fully on the build instead of being distracted by filming. I understand that. There are a lot of things in an automatic that have to be absolutely right or they will simply not work. A manual transmission is a little more forgiving in that regard.

I just bought an all-original TBSS earlier this year and this is exactly the sort of thing I was afraid of. I am pretty sure that trans cooler isn't a factory item, at least mine didn't have one. Its a darn shame this happened; the extra trans cooling is really helpful for these trucks 😢 I just rebuilt my motor, as it had a minor rod knock. But, instead of slapping it back in the engine bay and having fun, I've been "rebuilding" the 4l70e for the past few weeks with new seals, servos, accumulator pistons, sonnax performance kit, etc. I'm not a pro, but its been very helpful to hear advice and wisdom from professionals like you. Mine is almost back together, but now I'm gonna pull of the 1-2 accumulator off and scotch bright the bore first 👍

Having lived through two major floods in northern Pennsylvania, Agnes in 1972 and Eloise in 1975, I can tell you that not much is more devastating than a flood from a Hurricane. Tornadoes are terrible, but very localized so the areas damaged have large undamaged areas around them still equipped to help them. The widespread damage of a Hurricane flood makes recovery exceedingly difficult as help often has to come from hundreds of miles away.

Glad to see y'all back making videos! I just got the 4l60e out of my 2000 blazer recently, I've disassembled it and found the failure point in my transmission thanks to your videos. At first I thought I was an idiot and pulled the transmission out because of some failed solenoids and wiring harness, but the clutches are pretty well burnt up and then I found the stock 2/4 band was worn down to the metal. Whoever built my transmission left a loose snap ring in the case and it collided with the sunshell housing, thankfully only the housing haha

I have a 2006 TBSS since new (2005) and I've gone through 5 trans, including two RPM trans. The one I have now we started off with a new GM crate 4L70 Supermatic, then cracked it open and replaced everything we could with Sonnax parts (except for a few things - a billet pump and a PTC converter, B&M cooler - which I've always used starting with trans #3 - bypassing the stupid radiator that's breached twice). So far it's lasted 3 years without doing something bad, so I'm feeling like perhaps it's going to be ok.

Richard, talk to a company called PCB Way. They might be able to help you design a solution for the input speed sensor plug. They can do more than just PCB design and wiring. They also do 3d printing in metal. You can order one at a time, or a hundred at a time, doesn't matter. You can also make alterations to your design to perfect it as you see fit. Have a great day, Sir and Mrs. And God Bless. o7

Seems to me you go back to the basics of what worked before and slowly add on with a upgraded to and you can tell what's causing the overheating problem? Seems to me if there's a temperature sensor inside the transmission you should be able to connect to it input and be able to understand on your dash with your transmission temperature is running at and it should be warning you when it gets above a certain temperature instead of buying an aftermarket?, Obviously you need a sensor to determine the level of the transmission fluid so that you'll know that it's starting to get low and then you can replenishment and find out why it's getting low due to a leak whether it be a cooler or a seal or a pan gasket that sensor would save the transmission if you're able to suggest installing one

Richard, can one of these 4L60-65-70 E units be built to handle a big block reliably or is that 100% 4L80E territory only? I know several companies offer "mega built" 4L60's but stabbing it behind a turbocharged, injected Nailhead making 600-800 ft lbs in a 4400 lb daily driver Riviera, well I trust my ST400 not to leave me walking home, but I want overdrive. A company makes a bolt on Nailhead bell housing for the 4L60E that makes installing one into a 1st gen Riviera fit perfect. I also have a Bendstens Speed Gems kit to adapt the 4L80E to the nail. The 60 having less parasitic loss and a taller overdrive ratio is certainly desirable. The deep 1st gear maybe not needed with the absurd low end torque these engines produce. Curious what your thoughts are, Love the channel! Thanks!

Ouch. All the sensors & computer stuff... why not a transmission fluid level sensor [and a gauge]? Nevermind a leak, but just being low while towing is trouble. Every quart has some cycle rate per hour through the pump & clutches...which goes up if level is low - thats extra heat every time.
