08/01/2015 - Strong Thunderstorm/Pea-sized Hail - Reno, NV.

A strong thunderstorm with pea-sized hail and gusty winds occurred in Spanish Springs along the SR 445, north of Sparks, NV. near Reno. Lots of lightning!

When I clicked on this video, I thought, "Yeah, yeah. Pretty thumbnail-bet it's clickbait and the video's dull." I couldn't have been more wrong. Ten seconds in, I was hooked. First minute, I was so immersed in the tranquility of the car ride, I felt as if I were in the passenger seat. Five minutes in, the video was like a good meal-one where, even though I took only a couple bites, it feels like I've eaten even more, and I can't help but smile because more of the meal is ahead of me than behind. Once you got past the shopping center, I noticed how afraid I was to blink and miss something exciting, and I was so mesmerized by the lightning clips that I kept playing them back frame by frame. From the middle of the video to the very end, I thought, _I've seen tons of video and photos of this spectacular storm. None of them do it as much justice as this video does._ As a Reno native and a storm hunter, I consider this video a treasure. Here's its 200th thumbs-up. Cheers, Beau
