What a champ! He's an experienced violin player with high end equipment, no way did he take any chanches at this performance. His instrument crumbled in his fingers and he made it a tear dripping performance anyways. An Eurovision winner turned classical mastermind, never forget it.

I really felt Alex put alot of energy into this performance, so much that the strings broke:) And I am impressed he managed to finish the song with 2 broken strings.

I've been watching/listening over and over again, and I'm extremely impressed by how well Alexander managed to improvise after the first string broke. I probably would not have noticed something was wrong if I didn't know. And then, after the second string broke, he still didn't give up! But - of course - playing a violin with only 2 strings is next to impossible. (To be honest I now nothing about violin playing, but I guess it must be extremely difficult to play a two stringed violin).

Some years ago I read a book about Paganini. At one point he was put in jail, and had his violin with him, and he played so much that one string after the other broke. Finally he had only the G-string left, and he played on that one string - the finest music. It takes a very skilled violinist to make such a performance on a defect instrument!

oh i saw your introduction. Thank you very much :))
His strings don't actually break; they just go out-of-tune. It looks to me as though the A-String goes out-of-tune at around 1:24, and the D-String goes out-of-tune at around 2:26. I wouldn't be surprised if he had new strings on. Good on him for finishing the piece under such difficult circumstances!

@Venchem That's what I'm thinking too. And I have been trying to find out when the forst string broke, but without success, and that's impressive.

@gullskoify When you see him playing it's strange that it doesn't happen more often, andI am impressed too. And I don't even know when the first string broke

@awinxa I don't know when they break, but you can hear that the are broken in the end, I have tried to find out!

@awinxa None og them were broken before this song. And I'm not sure when they break or if they break at the same time. And I think that's very impressive!

@Hepatica100 I'm sure it does, and in this caseAlex didn't have time to practice either, he just had to do it instantly.

Might have been J S Bach - not Paganini, but what the heck - it's great music!
