Madam You are god to me. I am an postgraduate trainee from Sri Lanka and listening to almost all your lectures have improved by knowledge and increased the confidence to speak by just recalling what you said. i came down in my part two exam and hoping to get through. No ENT surgeon here has ever taught Otorhinolaryngology and made it so simple and rational. Bless you madam.

Ma'am you say in ENT we hold always in non dominant hand but in your esophagoscopy lecture you say hold with dominant hand
@DrSujathasENTClasses
@DrSujathasENTClasses Жыл бұрын
Around 5.24onwards, as rigid adult oesophagoscope is 50cm long, holding it with non dominant hand will not provide stability. But we are using left hand to stabilise it in position after reaching the desired level . While studying a procedure, use the exact techniques as described in standard text books. Once you become an expert in that field, you can make your own modifications according to your experiences.

Mam in esophagoscopy u said we handle it with dominant hand ,but here u said all instruments handled with non dominant hand ?
@DrSujathasENTClasses
@DrSujathasENTClasses 2 жыл бұрын
yes. Scopes are held in nondominant hand and dominant hand is for instrumentation like removal of FB using forceps. In oesophagoscopy, it is introduced with dominant hand by holding like a pen and the other hand used for stabilising by holding at the level of lips.After seeing the FB/Lesion,it is held with nondominant hand and FB removed with right hand. Hope it is clear

perform only after thorough preop assessment and peroperative monitoring. current guidelines advise to perform bronchoscopy 4-6 weeks after acute coronary syndrome.
