Ma'am, can you please explain about the treatment protocol for Covid associated / post covid invasive fungal sinusitis ? What is the ideal time period to operate a post covid Patient for fungal sinusitis ?

The outcome of covid 19 associated pulmonary aspergillosis is poor,-recommended antifungal agent is VORICONAZOLE, and should be used with caution as chance of drug interaction and enhancing cardiovascular toxicity. Treatment of CAIFS is treatment of predisposing conditions,surgical debridement and antifungal therapy.It is associated with rapid clinical worsening. It is better to wait for minimum period of 4-5 weeks after covid 19 infection for any surgical procedure, but if benefit is more than risk, emergency intervention should be planned.
