These are keeping me entertained between coats of paint today . I tend to associate places and certain times with people from the past . You are a kindred spirit !! Thanks for what you post , Jim .

Although you were out in the rain, Patrick, it didn't spoil the splendour of this video production. The buildings of Bath are of the topmost quality, architecturally wise. The city has to be the finest of all places in England as regards a Roman location. Particularly impressive is the shopping mall on the Pulteney Bridge, which is very much unique, I would say. The view over the city is lovely, too. Many thanks for the showing of this most excellent video.

Buxton reminds me of Bath to a smaller degree, but yes Bath is a lovely city with amazing buildings. The rain was unfortunate during the time of filming, but one of those things. Glad you enjoyed this video Ffranc, thanks as always for watching and commenting 👍

I've been to Edinburgh and remember how similar its New Town looks to Bath. Buxton is also similar on a smaller scale. It was easy to film in Bath, despite the crap weather, as wherever I pointed the camera I would always get a great shot. Thank you as always Frank and Lee for your loyal viewing! Cheers, Patrick :-)

Hellow Patrick! This must surely be one of the most beautiful cities in England and also in the world. Impressive how English cities obey an architectural pattern. I really enjoyed the footage you did on the bridge. Here in Brazil I only see these wonderful constructions in the cinema. It reminded me of some old movies that I love to watch since my childhood. Thanks Patrick, you are the best on youtube.

I enjoyed that Patrick - a whole range of things to see and do. It was literally a bath all day for you but as you said it didn't spoil the visit any. I remember going there on a primary school trip and i still recall seeing costumes. Good production. All the best. Mark

Thanks Mark, you may have gone on a similar primary school trip to me as I recall visiting the Museum of Costume as it was called back then. Thanks for watching and for your nice comments. Cheers, Patrick :-)

A pleasure to watch Patrick - you sure do put some work into these trips and videos. Yeah it might well have been the same costume museum.

Was just chatting to a mate of mine on the phone who lived down the South West so thought I'd look at one of your videos from that neck of the woods and this one stood out. What a lovely place Bath looks!! Rare to see rain in one of your movies though and shame the low cloud/mist spoiled the view right at the end. Thanks for a lovely look at a nice city.

Thanks Eric, yes I have just mentioned this to Jeff, who has also just watched and commented. I was travelling from a relative in Somerset to Devices where I was staying that night, so I decided to film in Bath on the way. It was a case of either filming whilst it was raining, or not at all so I'm pleased I did it in the end 👍

@@solitaryrambler I have no idea who Jeff is!! My mate from the South West is called Mark lol. We are at the mercy of the weather but the rain didn't spoil the movie at all.

Thank you for posting this wonderful video, Patrick. I wish I had an Aunt who lived in Bath - it must've been lovely visiting her. I live in Australia, and it's so bright here - I long for dreary, rainy days. Coincidentally, it was raining here as I was watching your video, and I was thrilled to see that it was also raining on your day in Bath (sorry, lol), and that you have the sounds of the city and rain in parts, rather than entirely covering it up with music (even though your composition is lovely, I still want to get the fullest experience, without actually being there). Also, it's really nice to see Bath, rather than just the person talking about Bath, with buildings in the background. There was just enough of you, and just enough of the city - though I was disappointed when the video came to an end. I'm going to rewatch it now, but just wanted to thank you before I forgot. I've watched several videos on Bath, and this was the most enjoyable. Nicely done - a great balance of film, narration, music, etc. I long to visit Bath (and other parts of England) - one day, hopefully...

Thank you CindyLee for your kind comments, glad you enjoyed the video. It was a hard one to film due to it lashing down so much on the day, but I was staying in the area at the time, so if I decided not to film due to the rain, I would have not returned another time to do it. One again many thanks, your kind words are much appreciated. Cheers, Patrick :)

Not very often you hit upon crap weather Patrick, however Bath looks lovely rain, hail, snow or shine so who cares? I have only ever passed through Somerset (on my way to Plymouth via train) so must make a point of visiting after Covid. Great work, this was a fab watch as per usual.

Thanks Jeff. Yes this was filmed on this particular day as I was travelling from a relative in Somerset to Devices where I was staying that evening, so Bath was my film location on the way. It was a case of either I film in the rain, or it wouldn't have got done at all. Glad I managed it though despite the moist weather! 👍

When is the BBC going to hire you to do this work for them? Have you thought about writing a book? You could make some money out of your talents.

I do share my videos with local groups and communities, etc, relevant to where I'm filmed, so I'm hoping they might one day be seen by the right person. Writing a book isn't something I'd want to do though :-)
