Context: SCP-096 is an indestructible humanoid that kills anyone that sees its face, and - effectively - cannot be stopped. The doctor talking in the interview made the Scramble googles to mask 096s face, but based on the SCP website, the reasoning why they didnt work was because it takes a fraction of a second for it to fully block its face. Even if the human mind cant perceive such a small timescale, you're still technically looking at the SCP. The doctor here actually wants 096 dead, but doing so goes against the principles of the SCP Foundation. In reality, he orchestrated the events that led to the Scramble Goggles not working, and subsequently getting The Foundations higher-ups (the O5 Council) to take it as a threat needing to be killed. The outcome of it, however, is that the doctor will be killed as a result.

So long as you destroy all evidence of the creature though its mostly harmless. The events of this film only happened because of the doctor. But normally it's harmless.

If you wanna know why they don't just kill things, there's a rather good item that explains it. SCP 1609 was just a weird looking wooden chair that had the anomalous power to teleport behind anyone who wanted to sit down. It just wanted to help people sit down. But another group called the GOC have a philosophy to kill anomalies first and ask questions later, so they put it through a wood chipper. This didn't neutralise its power, but instead made it vengeful against the people who wronged it. Now it's a pile of wood chips that can teleport, that teleports inside peoples lungs to kill them to get revenge. These things are already unpredictable and fly in the face of nature. Logic does not apply to them. Trying to kill one could do ANYTHING, its usually safer to just lock that shit in a box.

I love this. One of my favorite reactors getting into one of my favorite writing universes. If you guys want more films, there is also SCP: overlord and First Contact. Also, there is the "Confinement" series by Lord Bung which is a series set in the universe and is hilarious. Edit: The 0-5 are the head of the Foundation. As for 096, anyone that happens to see its face causes 096 to enter a state of rage, whether by seeing it in person or through video/photographs, regardless of distance. 096 will then proceed to hunt down the person and anyone else that sees its face along the way.

Here’s a explanation on why he orchestrated the breach is because the scp hasn’t authorize to kill 096 yet and he’s been trying to show the foundation how dangerous the creature is and why they need to terminate it even tho they don’t know how. He took a very bloody route in order to get the authorization necessary to kill it so he took that photo of 096 and i guess left it in the farm and the guy in the farm house saw it’s face which cause 096 to rage out of control. Once the foundation saw how incredibly dangerous that breach was they then allowed him to figure out a way to kill it. In the process he will be terminated for causing the breach to happen.

Scp-096 also known as "The Shy Guy". One of the more dangerous anamolies dealt with by the Foundation. This entity is essentially the physical embodiment of human sorrow and sadness making it an extremely dangerous congnito hazard, meaning that the entity possesses information that is interdimensional in nature or otherwise dangerous to the senses. In this particular case, knowing its face. Because who can look into the face of pure sorrow and anguish and not die somehow themselves? In this case quite literally... An entity best left in its dark corner of the world to sob miserably to itself, which is what the entity often does when not in an enraged state, an action that leads to many theories of its own as even drawings and sketch depictions of its face are enough to trigger its anomalous effects, let alone video feeds and other modern observation techniques. Much like other certain anomalies, this entity can effectively be considered a pure force of nature. Violence can't stop it, nothing can contain it, and any who have fallen prey to its anomaly do not survive 100% percent of the time. The only combative measure is is simply not to know about it. So pretty much he is a Minecraft enderman on hard-core mode.

When they first showed him I reacted the same way as the doctor and looked away out of fear. And then had to pause to laugh my ass off at my stupid brain for reacting that way to a purely fictional creature. SCP: Overlord should be next if you haven't seen it yet. Welcome to the Foundation, gentlemen. I am impressed. You put together over 2/3rds of the story of SCP-096 with no context outside of the one interview, and the breach itself. I am especially impressed since you caught one of 096s key behavior traits, which most first time viewers do not. Shy Guy, as he is informally referred to, has a very specific triggering event. His face. Since we cannot communicate with him, we do not know why, but he has an issue with people seeing his face. When triggered, he will go through a short episode of screaming, before Juggernaut speedrunning to the target. After getting to the target, and insuring they NEVER can talk about what they saw, he goes into a depressive crying state where he is very easily subdued. As long as the retrieval team are careful to approach from angles where they do not see his face, he can be "bagged" with a thick mesh bag over his head. It must be thick enough that the transport team cannot see his face... or we start over. The reason we do not normally kill is even easier. SCP-1609 is a good example. A simple chair, except they had a strange talent. This chair would appear if you needed a place to sit down. The chair came to the awareness of the GOC, a branch of the UN grown from the Catholic Inquisition. The GOC operates on a "find, study, burn" policy where they locate entities, analyze them, and destroy on site when possible. They do have containment centers, but those are for things like 096 that they already tired to destroy and failed. 1609 was reported to a local law enforcement, and a GOC contact notified them before the Foundation could respond. Analyzing the chair, and identifying that it had no defense or special abnormallity, they ran the chair through a chipper before burning the chips. Unfortunately, some of the chips were not burned, a side effect of the chipping and the fact the chair could after all teleport. Shortly after destroying the chair, the GOC team died. They died because a mass of steel fragments, fabric and wood chips which had been a chair teleported in such a way that some of those fragments appeared within the victims. Wood chips, metal fragments and even fabric are very dangerous inside the body, after all. We are able to store 1609 because we do not threaten it. 096 is functionally immortal, surviving tests with other SCPs which are MUCH more scary, and able to regrow damage in real time. We did not, and to this day do not, have an assured way to kill him. In one timeline, we were able to finally neutralize him... by storing him on a base on the far side of the moon. He still gets upset... but he no longer is a threat to humanity in general.

The SCP Foundation is basically a fictional organization documented by the web-based collaborative-fiction project. the SCP Foundation is responsible for locating and containing individuals, monsters, creatures, entities, locations, and objects that are dangerous. There are alot of scary creatures and they are named by numbers. You look up more about it on KZbin and on google it shows what they look like. Some are not ass dangerous as others. The foundation outs the creatures or objects into different classes. Safe: SCPs of this class can be safely or easily contained requiring little to no resources. Does not mean they do not pose a threat if activated or provoked. Euclid: Euclid class SCPs require more resources to contain completely or where containment isn’t always reliable. This is usually due to the possibility that the knowledge of an SCP is limited or is inherently unpredictable. Any autonomous, sentient, or sapient SCPs are generally categorized as Euclid due to the inherent unpredictability of an SCP that is capable of acting or thinking on its own. Keter: Keter class SCPs are extremely difficult to contain because the Foundation either lack the knowledge or technology they need to contain it. It does not necessarily mean that a Keter class SCP is inherently dangerous but difficult to contain. But most of the dangerous ones are here such as mass killing, manipulation of the mind, and worst of all destroying humanity itself.

He can break through any material, his top speed is unknown, he was able to kill someone in a plane mid air and under the sea. He knows exactly were you are. You can tell hes getting close because he begins to scream and wale while running. His bones are extremely tough to break. They say his bones are fragile but that is false. Now once you look at his face via in person or in a picture, he will come for you, and once your dead he'll go back to being calm and go back to crying. Also if you become a target to any SCP. You are now SCP-1. So if you look at SCP 096's face. You are now SCP 096-1.

the names of arguably 2 of the most famous scp's (the way the anomalies are cataloged/named once captured) is hard to destroy reptile and the sculpture, not all of the anomalies want to destroy the universe/reality itself and they actually help the foundation but those are VERY few, like 50 - 100 among 4900. scp 999 is a good example of a very adorable scp, its name is the tickle monster. also 96 is not the most dangerous scp nor the most indestructible that they have "contained"

I see yall found yall way to a favorite. The Shy Guy hates when ppl see his face. The guy made the breach happen by setting up ppl to see his face without them knowing the consequence. SCP-096 anomalous effect besides being almost immortal is the ability to perceive anyone who see his face no matter how far away he is. So if you are on the moon he will know you seen his face if you view the picture even while you are on the moon. Now how he will get to you is the question but he senses it. He is harmless unless you see his face and he is not aware of his actions so basically he is not even evil he works of an instinct that is well controllable contained. He is a problem if many ppl see his face because by the natural reaction we humans and even animals look at something that moves. So he is a threat to us all but not purposely and basically, this doctor is obsessed with killing it because of the danger so he used the containment break to get his permission to kill the SCP he hates. So yes he is in fact the murder who puppeteered scp=096 to kill all you have seen. SCP-096 do not even understand what it has done only that it stopped ppl from seeing its face. Morality is not even known or a sense of right or wrong it is fully instinctual so it doesn't get it. Basically, he just wants to be left unseen by the world and is always crying and sad. I love this SCP its one of my favs i have maybe 10 i like and he is still my second fav scp. The doctor is to blame here put it this way if the guns are being used and you want them banned he is that guy to kill 100 ppl with guns so u can see the danger of the gun. Or lets do this if superman is a possible threat to humans but he is good. He will find a way to control Krptonians mind so he can make superman kill many ppl to then make you see the danger. So that dead child is on the doctors' hands not the SCP he just got his hands dirty but the doctor orchestrated it. Now that i know yall into SCPs i am curious to see how yall react to many of them its a fun concept I got into them maybe 4 yrs back and been addicted since and now they have animations and movies its awesome to see the verse grow.

The first thing that came to mind to deal with seeing the creature's face is to wear a blindfold that covers your eyes so you only see the ground in front of you for 3 feet ahead. You won't see it's face unless you look up, can move to see where you're going without falling and be able to tell where it's standing. However, if it sqats and looks up right where you're at game over. You getting stretched. 😱
