I’m sure you figured it out but just in case and just because I wanna put this here. Scp 096 is an immortal creature which spends all of its time crying unless somebody somehow somewhere on the planet no matter where you are in the ocean or sky has seen its face in which case it will make a B line to that person no matter what stands in its way and kill them in which case it will go back to crying .you can destroy its flesh but it’s skeleton is indestructible and the foundation doesn’t think it actually has any sentience

They don’t know what the skeleton is made out of just that it can’t be destroyed they had rocket launchers and mini guns on the thing when they captured it blowing flesh off last left and right and still nothing stopped it. there is a story Where they sent another indestructible monster to fight it but this one had sentience after hours of nether of them getting close to winning,The other monster peeled the flash off of 96 is head leaving only the skull when it regrew it theoretically reset 96 since he didn’t see his new face.The SCP foundation has a very loose cannon you can either believe that it can’t be destroyed or there are a few stories in which it has been destroyed. One of the(many say joke) stories has them sending it into the sun and then make sure it’s dead by showing a D class it’s face in the story ends with the sun starting to move closer to the planet

So Incase you’re more interested in looking into SCps. One of the major factors that make something ”anomaly”is that it simply can’t be explained like why is 96s skeleton indestructible, how can it tell when someone on the planet sees its face, how can this vending machine produce any liquid imaginable,why is this pizza box always full, why does this statue move when no one’s looking at it, where does this teddy bear keep getting materials to make evil clones of itself, or why is this stairway bottomless and why does it sound like there’s a child crying in it.None of these questions have answers which is why these things need to be contained to protect normal people from them

They do easily contain it by putting a bag over his face and putting it in a doorless windowless cell that they can only monitor with pressure sensors the only way it brakes containment is if like in this video someone has a photograph with its face in it like they said it could just be sitting in your house for years and then one day you like “what’s that gray blob in the background” then five minutes later “what’s that screaming I hear”

I recommend reading the original incident log on the SCP Foundation for the full story. They changed some stuff and shortened its length, leaving out little details like how the scramble goggles failed. Gotta say tho I like how they changed Dan and his "buddy" being found out in this short film. Makes more sense if you ask me.

That was not a regular machine gun that the Warthog carries. It was a 30mm autocannon capable of ripping tanks to pieces. In addition, the Maverick missiles it fires are also intended for armored vehicle destruction. In other words, they just blasted SCP 096 with multiple tank killing attacks and it just aggravated him slightly.

SCP 096 is actually usually extremely docile, and does not normally attack, which is why termination wasn't approved so long as it was contained. It only becomes hostile when someone sees its face. :)

Here's an explanation to 096. He is completely docile, indestructible, strong, and fast as hell. He only becomes aggressive when someone sees its face, whether that be by seeing it in person, video, or photograph. That's why the soldiers walked up to it because assuming the scramble goggles DID work, then they would be in no danger. Unfortunately, the goggles didn't work. Edit: People keep saying that artist depictions of 096 are okay to see. I already knew. Not to be rude, it's just annoying to see the same reply over and over again.

Meaning the wearer of the SCRAMBLE Goggles has seen the face of 096 but they are completely unaware of it. But, this fraction of a nanosecond is still enough to trigger 096's reaction.

The SCP foundation actually is kind of a parody on the umbrella corporation. So good hunch. SCP is about this foundation that finds and countains the SCPs, things, events and straight up monsters which cannot be exposed to society no matter what. That is basically all you need to know. A world where these things exist, but the general public does not know about it because the SCP foundation hides fact and also takes care of witnesses in one way or another. This makes it so much more creepy to me because this setting could be happening in our reality without us knowing if the SCP foundation did a good enough job.

I think you missed the point of the ending of this short film. They planned the breach and were marked for termination (Alexei immediately, Daniels later) They don't kill witnesses unless it will bring inevitable dismay to mass population and valuable personnel or damage to important objects, items or locations. Doctor Dan sacrificed bunch of people to fool Foundation into allowing the termination request for 096.

I understood the film and I think you are generalizing too much. The foundation is still about containment, if 2 people planned a breach that means they were acting against the foudations principles. So one SCP is can be multiple of those or just either one basically. Of course I do not know every single SCP, because there are kind of a lot since this is a an open project for everyone to add to. But still, I never said that every SCP has to be a monster.

Dr Daniel and Alexy deliberately caused the breach of SCP-096, he knew the Scramble googles weren't going to work and even made them to fail. He was the one that orchestrated everything and allowed the photo to be leaked causing SCP-096 to be free. The reason he did this was to be able to gain permission to kill SCP-096 by the O5 as the damage caused would surely cause for the termination of SCP-096 luckily the O5 managed to get evidence and acknowledged he was the one who caused through the interview done by the Ethics Committee which is represented by the women questioning daniels who are a small secretive group called in incase of any rules or regulations being broken by foundation members such as deliberately causing a breach for example.

The foundation doesn't go out of its way to destroy anomalies unless absolutley necessary, as that could just make things worse (see scp 1609 for example, which went from harmless to homicidal after an attempt at terminating it). pitting scps against each other in fights is something they would go out of their way to make sure doesent happen. Remember its "secure, contain, protect" not "destroy, destroy, destroy"

I'm just gonna drop a recommendation of SCP made by a channel called TheRubber, he made a great animations illustrating and explaining SCPs, unlike most channels that would just put a picture while reading narration for 30 minutes without any emotion whatsoever. If you're scared or unsure of the SCP videos, start with TheRubber's video on SCP Foundation explaining what is SCP and maybe it'll get you hooked on the universe :)
