The s1 is my my favorite loco because the streamlining and power. It didn’t deserve to be scrapped but kept. And it was very unique, it had a Leslie a200 airhorn rather than a horn.

The New Haven I-5s have a few features that were copied from other locomotives - the driving wheels were copied from the ones on the streamlined NYC Dreyfuss Pacifics used on the Detroit-Toledo-Cleveland Mercury streamliner. Although the I-5s were lesser known than the NYC J3As or the CP Royal Hudsons, its exterior became the inspiration for the New South Wales Government Railways (NSWGR) C38 class Pacifics in Australia, of which 4 are preserved, with one, #3801, is in operational condition and runs on occasional excursions.
