Hey Virtual Railfan. That first scene is totally funny, I'll send this video to a friend who may not be aware they can go backwards. And that Holiday Train with 2249, I didn't make it out for December 2024, but I saw the combined trains go by my place headed to Montreal before that event, that was just by luck. However, last year a buddy and I went out and I touched 2249, first I got that close, we took several pictures of the event. And a note to you: I like your Live Chat ethics rules.

2:08 doubleheader on the CPKC Holiday Train in Revelstoke. Was 8731 placed at the front to help it negotiate the Canadian Rockies? 9:16 I can't remember the last time I saw NS 6920 on a Virtual Railfan camera 12:08 I thought this was a VIA Rail train at first, but these Siemens Venture cars are unpainted. They might be Ontario Northland cars or Amtrak Airo cars 17:13 NS 5642 usually travels with the firefighting training cars. But NS 9-1-1 has been seen with those cars the last few grab bags 17:28 Rochester Brewing And Roasting Company now owns this building with a caboose and passenger car attached to it. Incahoots previously occupied this building 17:44 I hope all those old SP cars are going to a museum!

I would place money that the CN's are pullimg that pipe from a plant in Regina, Saskatchewan. I go by the plant when heading North from S. Wi. every fall duck hunting 70 mi. north of there and have met guys that work at the plant. They ship pipe all over N. America.

Well if EPA gets throwed in the trash heap of progressivism then progress rail can buy the rights and retool and bring back ALCO style locomotives and start smoking up the place or go back to using bunker-c heating oil to run our engines It's cheap ,got tons of it and has that oh so sweet aroma of progress.

I was just day dreaming having a grand old time laughing my but off thinking of what could really be without the EPA today.Imagine a whole fleet of steam locomotives with complete automation like star trek style railroading only with steam. The engine is automated and operated remotely and the crew car would only be there for the conductor, BUT always a 2 man crew incase there were injuries that can be mitigated.The romance would be lessened but the cheapness would be there .Why we could get in a competition with China as to whom could manufacture the cheapest locomotive, just dreamin, but all the things that made steamers uncompetitive could be worked out, yeah still a dream.
