Agreed! It should be a 2+2 also, it's the reason a buddy of mine went with a BRZ instead of other offerings. A fastback hatch with fold down rear seats would be awesome too for practicality, kind of like what the 180SX was like. Hopefully they don't use that variable compression engine until they work out all the kinks in it!

As a Honda Fanboy, I’ve had an 08 Si, 18 Si, 18 Accord 2.0T, an 04 Odyessey, and an 04 Civic… Honda has fallen off. My wife and I switched to Mazdas recently, and you get so much more bang for your buck with a Mazda

Inventory will improve with the finished paint shop upgrade. A lot of dealers around here have plenty Black Pearl and Gun Metallic Zs, without markups, even on the NISMO Zs. Hopefully next year when I put in an order for my Seiran Blue "Devil Z", hshift Sport (tuner special) where I'll do the AMS, SPL, Z1, NISMO things, that paint color won't be marked up!

I remember as a kid being all wide-eyed at the S550 teasers and pre-release material back in 2014. It was the coolest thing ever, the red GT on the open road, couldn't get any more American. The chrome 5.0 badge on the fender, GT badge and those stunning taillights encased in the black panel on the trunk, the design was flawless. The S550 pre-facelift is the most beautiful modern muscle car period and the interior, man... The steering wheel, the gauge cluster, the center stack gauges, it was so classic Mustang. The S650 now is the most ugly "muscle car" I can think of, and also overpriced sadly.

The ZR1 is amazing. That amount of performance you only get from other luxury brands which cost way more. Now I cant wait for the new Gt2 RS that should be around the same in terms of power output. Already can visualize the upcoming test between Ferrari SF90, Lamborghini Revuelto, GT2 RS and the power Bargain ZR1. Some Luxury Brand Owners will be in tears for sure 😀

Matt, thanks for still doing the weekly updates, it is great to get caught up each weekend on the latest automotive news, including the fact the Acura NSX lives on with the reflectors from the NSX on the bumper of the refreshed Honda Odyssey van. I appreciate the details and I really got a kick out of that, gave me a laugh. Yes I am one of the weirdo's that really thought the NSX was a state of the art car and I really liked the design, very timeless will never look old. The Japanese really make some of the neatest cars, period. I really liked the new NSX's and they really were ahead of all the other companies in my opinion having the twin turbo V6 mid engine all wheel drive hybrid set up. They were way ahead of the other companies. Sad it is gone and sad so many hated it.

The Corvette ZR1 will be a legend over the years, I like the rear split window to help tell it apart from the ZO6. sadly all these Corvette's the ZO6 and this ZR1 have really become true exotic priced cars and with the dealer markups will be in the same range or even more than some Ferrari's. Sorry if I have the money I am buying Ferrari. I am a huge fan of Corvette's always wanted to add one to the fleet, probably will buy a certified used one before I die, but this mark up game really has to stop. Go to Ferrari there is no mark up game, yes you pay a ton for your custom made Ferrari , but it is all custom to your spec from the dash material and color of the dash, to the color of the seat belts to the color of the stitches in the Leather seats, even the controls they offer different button materials, and guess what when you drive down the street everyone knows it is a Ferrari and has the amazing Ferrari exhaust that no one will ever sound like. These Corvette's are all looking too similar in my opinion. I am a car guy so I can tell a ZO6 from a standard Corvette, but they are very close, looking way too similar, I am happy the ZR1 has the rear split window that will be the way 99 percent of people will know it is a ZR1. Again not a Chevy Corvette hater at all, no doubt about it from the base Corvette to the ZO6 to this ZR1 all the mid engine Corvette's are all amazing cars, but if I had the cash I was buying new I would go Ferrari at the end of the day these are General Motors assembly line cars, not custom spec one offs.

As a big fan of 1960's era cars, I really like that Cadillac concept. Being that it would cost more than my house I could never afford one, but it still looks cool. Maybe they should offer the CT5 as a convertible before they discontinue it at the end of its life as a consolation for the more average people.

There wont be such thing as Zora. This car is packaged so tight with all the cooling bits there is no room for batteries. Unless they eliminate the rear cargo area but that would shift so much weight to the rear car would be one trick pony - straight line performer.

I read that entire new option pricing for the 2025 Mustang and essentially lost all interest in ever purchasing a new Mustang in my lifetime. I don't care for buying a 2024 Mustang atm and don't want a used Mustang GT. I'll just continue to save my money and sit on it. I have no interest in regretting an expensive useless purchase. Ford is trying to push the Mustang into the Porsche and Corvette segment with GTD model so they are trying to change their target audience from the every man pony to the mature and fortunate man. Thus the huge price increase for no reason. Wanna know how to slow sales on a model? Increase the price on it without changing a damn thing from last year's model faster than the national average wage increase. Matt is right, S550 is the only reasonable model of the Mustang --my personal favorite being 15-17 models. ^_^

Matt, I really wouldn't get my hopes up on a New Nissan Silvia, Nissan is still having financial issues and they are still only making limited amounts of the new Nissan Z, which again I don't know why Nissan is making the Z this "Exotic" hard for dealers to get car and purposefully limiting the production. To me Nissan Z should be produced in high numbers like a Ford Mustang. I spoke to the dealership, I guess Nissan wants the new Z to have this GT-R mystique to it, but honestly I don't see the comparison. The Z was always Nissan/Datsun's "Pony car" and was a relatively affordable sports car, I don't see the new Z having that much of a life if none are available and when the dealer does get one in they mark it up to 80 to 85,000 dollars. Also, how the hell did Nissan not include a limited slip differential as standard equipment? The dealership told me Nissan wanted to offer an extremely low price base model and did that to cut cost?? I told dealership even the Subaru BRZ and it's twin the Toyota 86 come with limited slip as standard. He said the Z does not compete with the BRZ, those cars are below the Z, the Z competes with the Ford Mustang and Chevy Camaro. I finally gave up talking to the guy he didn't even know the Chevy Camaro is no longer made, so I realized he is not a car guy, he is just basically reading Nissan's talking points to me and I don't deal with that. That new Z is doomed in my opinion and it is sad because I always liked the Z's. The 350 Z from the 2000's was great, Nissan sold a lot of them, and to me they still look good to this day.

Ford is making a profit on their EVs. The way they report it forces the "e-division" to look unprofitable due to investments they already made, like 2 battery plants and a new platform that they will debut in 2025. All of their operating costs are down for the division. As for GM, they went a little too ham. Between Bolt 2025, Equinox, Blazer(and Honda's kids), Lyriq, Optiq, Silverado, Sierra, Hummer, Escalade AND Celestiq, It will be very easy for them to flood the space too fast.

@@elenchus sure, the 2025 hybrid does weigh 250 lbs more than the 2024 SI (but the 2025 SI is definitely putting on weight with its changes including more structural bracing and heated seats). Not sure if that makes it worth a 20+ mpg drop in the city and 10mpg drop on the highway. More power would've better differentiated the SI. Have an imperfect launch in that thing and you're gonna lose a drag race to the hybrid.

It'll no doubt be as fast or faster than the current Si, but to me, the Si is a very lightweight (particularly for a good-sized sedan) fun car that isn't all that concerned about quarter mile times. But that's just me, I have no doubt a lot of people will like the new hybrid.

Volts and amps are a constant. An EV capable in accepting 800 volts and 400 amps have been charging just fine on ol 50 kW units (ie 400v/100 amp). It's not similar to Diesel vs gas dispensers (one or the other) Upkeep will be the true test. But I'll prefer to see travel corridors upgraded to dispense the latest and greatest in charging speeds. Really no need to upgrade the grocery store fast units while spending an hr shopping.

Instead of eliminating base trims, I think even further trim consolidation like chopping off middle trims is better for price conscious buyers, because less variations= less total money, and while yes there are now technically 4 variants of the model 3, it’s really just the base model, then M3 LR RWD/AWD then performance

I cannot get mad at Ford for increasing the price. There is no other competition for 2 door V8's muscle cars. Unfortunately it leaves a bad taste in people's mouth when shopping for Mustang and they see a $3,000 price increase vs last years.

Ok Ford, bring back the Falcon... an affordable RWD small car, have both 2 and 4 door models, as well as a 2 door 6 foot bed Ranchero version.
