The question about vetoing character concepts reminded me of Grant's character Quallo on Androids and Aliens. If I remember right Grant presented Quallo as a really gross pirate monster and most of the party was reluctant to bring him on board. Someone asked what happens if none of the PC's like the new character and there was some joking about sending Grant to make a new character. I'm glad everyone went along with Quallo because I really liked his character arc.

Here's how I do recall knowledge in my game. Critical Success: Same as success but they get 2 questions . Success: They learn the name of the creature, the type, general fluff information/folk stories about it, then I give them one mechanical question Fail: They know the name of the creature and maybe the type (depending on how obvious it is), then they get useless (but fun) information on it. Critical Fail: They get misinformation and one mechanical question (in which I also give them misinformation). I feel like since it costs an action, getting nothing is lame and feels like a wasted action. So I always give something to make it feel worthwhile. Sometimes getting useless information on a creature with a Failure is really fun!

On the Unique Vs. General: I always give out the General information. If they want to know about a Human Pirate and they roll and take a nature role, I give them the Human information. Society, they get the general pirates information. If they want this particular individual's information, the individual has to have done something or said something to clue in or key what or who they are, then it's a Lore check, or it is a really difficult society/occultism(If it is a planer creature)/Religious(If it is part of religious iconography) check, but they have to ask specifically for knowledge on the individual, if they simply say, "I'm going to roll knowledge to see what it is." It's a human. It's a pirate.

Surprised Joe is trying out Returnal, didn't know he liked rogue-like games! If he's looking for hidden gems with an Alien vibe, Prey 2017 is one of the most amazing video game experiences out there. Plus the story is fantastic.

I had a need for GCN and this came at the right time. Get yourself some of those water sensors - they are pretty reliable. Getting old sux - it gets worse - sorry. Lastly - please please run some Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay. The chargen is so fun and I am sure Skip would love it!
