1/10 Scale Element Ecto | Ep. 19 - Rock Crawling...Lots of Transitions and Huge Gaps!

Had the chance to take out Element Ecto for rock crawl. I recently worked on final touches to lower the center of gravity and improve the weight distribution by swapping over to Servo on Axle (SOA) and installing a lcg battery tray...ultimate mods to lower the CG. Although the rocks are not huge, there are a lot of transitions and huge gaps that needs to be overcome, Ecto is proving to be super capable, and I'm really enjoying this rig. So enjoy!

What tyre's are you using mate? What's the benefit of the SOA?

I am using Jconcepts Ruptures. In SOA setup, the servo sits on top of axle helping to lower the center of gravity.

@BigSung Hobbies have you tried the Tusk's? They're supposed to be as good just smaller.

Personally I have not, but from those that have used it, it's very good tire, but still fall short of Ruptures. At least that's what I am hearing so far.

What tires is that, and do they perform on dirt to?

It’s the Jconcepts Ruptures. They are definitely one of the better performing tires on rocks, but I never really tried them on dirts so I am not sure.

I am running Pro-line dual stage foams, but I will be putting on RC Crawl foams for testing purposes shortly.

It's the Holmes Hobbies SHV500. Definitely a loud servo, but so strong.

@@BigSungHobbiesnice! I have the SVH800 Holmes.....but it's silent - weird hey? Love your Ecto...better setup than my Sendero HD :)

The SHV800 is the one to get. it’s super quiet and strong. The 500 seems to be slightly quicker, but that noise definitely has its drawback. I had ordered them a while back so will continue to use it.
