Thanks! It’s a blast to drive. Now just need to paint and add all the little details.

Exactly what I was looking for. $40 is a bargin for the files. I'll be getting this shortly. Seems like a really awesome project and when you finish you can tell everyone you made it. Like made dang near everything not just assembled it.

Thanks so much. It is a really fun project, and people can’t believe it when I tell them I made it. Good luck on your build. Join us on the discord server for any assistance or to just show off your progress.

@Contrell Beal Where can you get the same truck for free? I am not aware of any completely printable scale truck that can be remote controlled and all of the files are optimized and ready for printing.
@111906652 жыл бұрын
what kind of printer did you use? I'm looking for one to do projects just like this. I love it man, can't wait to see what you build next.
@BuildItBetter3D2 жыл бұрын
Thank you. My main printer is the Ender 5 Plus. But you can do this project and a lot of other cool stuff with an Ender 3. The bigger build area is great to have on the 5 Plus, but it is quite a bit more expensive than the 3.

great work I bet this took a long time to print?
@BuildItBetter3D3 жыл бұрын
Thank you. It does take a while to print, but not as bad as you would think. I've always wanted a nice 1/14 scale truck but they are so expensive. This is a much cheaper way to do it. It's also been a lot of fun to design and build. Keep an eye out, I'm getting it all painted and polished and then I'll put up more videos.

Sweet but problem noticed some 3d prints sucks in sun for too long warps even after been painted.
@BuildItBetter3DАй бұрын
Yes, if you plan for it to be in the sun for long or left in a hot car then you should use a higher temp filament. ASA or ABS would be a better option, or there are even higher temp filaments if you really want it to handle anything. So far I haven’t had any warps, I do make sure to keep it out of the sun if I’m not driving it. Mine was all printed in PLA.

how did you get the scaling correct in blender?
@BuildItBetter3D3 жыл бұрын
You can set your scene units and then display edge length in edit mode. Here is a good video showing how: kzbin.info/www/bejne/naiVYYKvf9SKm8k I am building the truck in 1/14th scale so I then get the real world dimensions and divide them by 14 to get the size I want to make something in blender. I have a bunch of reference images in blender and have them all scaled to the correct size, so I don't have to check every single part, if it looks right I go with it. You do need to be sure to not scale or move objects in object mode or it will change the dimensions shown in edit mode. If you accidentally do, you can "apply transformation" to get things back to reading correctly.

whats the best filament to print the chassis and frame? Thanks
@BuildItBetter3D6 ай бұрын
I printed mine in PLA. If you plan to leave it in hot places such as a car then you’ll want something with more heat resistance.
