Is the skeeride 1 or 2 more durable?
@BuildItBetter3D3 күн бұрын
Durability is more dependent on print quality and materials. The SkeeRide 1 is easier to mod and has more mods available. The SkeeRide 2 is more detailed and more reliable if assembled properly. The SkeeRide 2 track is more durable.

I haven’t been in it for a while but it used to be that only 1 cockpit object is allowed. Only put what has to be in the cockpit object in it. So screens and manipulators. Everything else should go in different objects.

this is a great idea . i printed my hole trailer adding metal inserts if that 1/16 scale trailer was actually 1/14 id build it . but it is out of scale sitting on the back of a tamiyah truck . i purchased one an found out so now build my own off Hercules suspensions . you should add files to cults mate or thingyverse . good job shame its wrong scale an thats what got to me in end didnt look correct .
@BuildItBetter3D2 ай бұрын
It is a true 1/14 scale. Total length is 3.79ft multiply by 14 is 53ft, Width is 7 inches multiply by 14 is 8.1ft, well is 22.25 inches multiply by 14 is 26ft and rear deck is 12 inches multiply by 14 is 14ft. Perhaps you are comparing to a completely different trailer, as the one this is designed after comes out to being exact 1/14 scale. Also, my files are available on Cults, MyMiniFactory and Youmagine. links in the description.

I suggest following along but building an aircraft you wish to build. I don’t give specifics for building this exact aircraft but show techniques needed for building any aircraft. As for useful sites, I google search a lot and read just about every result. There aren’t any good places with all the info needed and it will be different for every aircraft.

I don’t have any of that saved in my computer. As I go along on a build when I need something I do a google search, use what I find and then move on, helps me save space and keep my computer from being cluttered.

@kbuss104 ай бұрын
lemme join and say thx for the series. i watched about 10 parts but without goin into details, can you tell me where are the XPL files discussed? for me this is the main culprit in the whole process, first: why it is separate and not integrated in the plane maker software? second: in most better aircraft looks to me the XPL file contains the more important functionality, like fine tunings, extra AP settings, comprehensive lights, FMS settings and defaults... it is a horrible system just like fsx/p3d. tried to google it but i dont get any usable results, only that those are dll files. yeah ok but where i get the dedicated editor and compiler for those that would connect it with the datarefs in the ACF file?

Sweet but problem noticed some 3d prints sucks in sun for too long warps even after been painted.
@BuildItBetter3D4 ай бұрын
Yes, if you plan for it to be in the sun for long or left in a hot car then you should use a higher temp filament. ASA or ABS would be a better option, or there are even higher temp filaments if you really want it to handle anything. So far I haven’t had any warps, I do make sure to keep it out of the sun if I’m not driving it. Mine was all printed in PLA.

This is incredible, I've just started making something similar myself. My biggest question is how did you make the outrigger feet descend and ascend in to and away from the outrigger arms? I was thinking hydraulics for myself but mechanically would probably be a little bit easier
@BuildItBetter3D6 ай бұрын
I made actuators using n20 geared motors and sone end stops. They’re driven by an esc. The case was 3D printed. You could also use the little 12volt linear actuators you find online, nice thing with those is they already have limit switches so you don’t have to wire your own.
