1/1500 E.D.F. Destroyer (OOB, Paint, Speed Built)

A colleague/friend of mine (lucksammer) was interested in models and wanted to see how I do it and so we spent 8 hours building these two kits. Much Fun!

Man, both of those look amazing! I'm not sure which color scheme I like more... did your friend completely build/paint one? if so, he did an AMAZING job! Can't get enough of these Yamato ships! XD

@supercoolcheeseman Yeah - why not? Citadel paints are great for hand brushing. As far as I know flipmaster and prime92 are using them, too.

@HELLFIRExxIFRIT He completely built the silver one on his own. I just showed him how it works by building mine at the same time (and by doing the almighty teacher...ok...not really). The only thing I did on his is the stand (I did some cutting and a sloppy putty work there). Thanks for the comment. I'm glad you like them.

@HELLFIRExxIFRIT No. It has to be coated before you do the weathering. The coat has to be resistant to the thinner you're using.

Could you do a small tutorial on how you do washes, because everytime i try, I mess up and it looks awful

@lhasarus well i pretty much just brush the ink where i want it to go, in a deep area for depth, but it never comes out good and always looks amateurish

@lhasarus so you brush it on kind of generously, and then use thinner on a q-tip to shape it but AFTER it's been topcoated???

@HELLFIRExxIFRIT By just brushing it can't come out good. I tried that before even wth a 000 brush - no way XD Have you tried wiping away the exess with thinner soaked q-tips after the wash dried? The bottom layer has to be resistant to the thinner though.
