Ilmango is a Legend. This stud moved 45 wardens hundreds (was it over 1000?) blocks and only died twice in the process. If that's not an impressive demonstration of his capability, I don't know what is.

@@bassyeen I don't think he'll move them over. I think he'll send them to the void and rebuild everything in peace and then bring three batches of 24 (with no 21-batch this time). I also have a hope that he's done with dying in this project.

I actually don't get it. What makes them convinient for mob switches? Is it because you can keep them from despawning? If that's the case, wouldn't it have been 10x easier to use zombies and just give them some random items?

@@fuuryuuSKK exactly, it's mostly the switch-part that determines convenience. Everyone can find 70 mobs to render the rest of the world safe; it's the ability to turn it on and off at will we're looking for.

I love how ilmango shows the real struggle of playing minecraft, like miscalculated coords or misplaced blocks. He could simply edit it out and publish an ideal skyblock let's play, but he chose not to. I appreciate it

Mob switch is more about easy spawn proofing. It takes time and resources to spawn proof everything otherwise

@@dylanb2990 you haven't thought about it , I hope... Spawnproofing doesn't only mean placing torches. It means building things that are already spawnproof. In a skyblock the player has full control of all the terrain, so he can choose to only use spawnproof blocks. But that's a big limitation and makes things way more difficult. So instead , player / ilmango can build normally , and use a mobswitch to prevent spawns, just like a normal terrain generated world

If you need to place a single sign and given that you lost your levels already, you could carry a bed and a chest with you, put everything apart from the sign in the chest, set your spawn on the bed and kamikaze the sign placement. The same can be said for most interactions with the Wardens.

I feel like the level of skill he has may cause him to sometimes take risks that a less capable player wouldn’t dream of because he’s confident in the safety of his choices in the moment. The problem is when someone like me makes a mistake, I get ganked by a zombie. When someone like ilmango makes a mistake, he gets ganked by the whole mob cap and a world eating, TNT duping flying machine dumping lava on his head.

It wasn't until this series that I noticed prismarine changes color. I thought it was an illusion from the texture but it turns out it is animated like the portal blocks that spawn when you create a nether portal.

For working with wardens, this went relatively smoothly. I especially appreciate the balls to run on the roof the transport line, but that's a little reckless. It's also not a bad idea to place chests down in situations like these, quickly chucking all your items in it except for maybe the one you need to use, maybe even a bed to set the spawn as well. The wardens can shoot through anything, annihilate diamond gear, but it sure can't do anything to blocks. And when you return to the scene, you'll be glad for that chest. And I get that people don't just carry chests around, but it's something to consider.

You should probally put all your important gear in a chest when you are afk, cus if you start to take damage when you are afk you will probally still die even if you have armour on you.

He can stand in hopper w/ chest so it won't de-spawn.

@@Cyberguy42 Hopefully, but honestly I like the hopper idea others have brought up. Seems like a safer approach to just set that up in case anything happens. Honestly he should probably focus on getting villagers so he can make an iron farm, he's got all the pieces. I'm guessing he doesn't really want to because the iron farm is so powerful, I don't think he really likes them.

I feel like this always happens to me anytime I build something technical. It's in the wrong position or wrong spawn chunks. I built the fox farm and realized its only half in taiga, made a platform to spawn horses, but didn't know it needed to be plains or savanna, started a wandering trader platform only for it to be flooded with slime. I suck lol. Now I just need flint and steel so I can watch it all burn

For future reference. If a mob can knock you off in any way, somehow. Build a fence around the AFK area, so you don't get knocked into the void

A tip with the dark oak, you can actually grow a tree with only 3 saplings, it would take more bonemeal but that shouldn't be an issue for you. Should yield a better drop:use ratio.
