"The long view really matters..." Not one ever gets rich quick. Over time, your money will grow. You just have to keep at it.

One of the better videos on becoming a self made millionaire because husband goes into details such as not eating out, saving what you can even if its $10 @ paycheck, budgeting, owning one car and using public transportion, investing money for 30 yrs....Self discipline, and not keeping up with Jones who keep update their vehicles and their home! Its a beautiful landscape in Seattle, Wa., where they live!

They are right. Watching your friends buying houses and fancy cars and new iPhones and going to the mall each week etc. It's tough. But we gotta keep our eye on the prize! Achieving our life goals with minimum to no debt.

Exactly. So many people purchasing the iPhone X while I am OK with my 4 year old Samsung. The people in this video have nothing to worry about for the rest of their lives and we can all be there if we make the right decisions. Just amazing.

I just started a new job and I've already noticed something. Those close to retirement are driving older vehicles (5 years and older for the most part). The young ones are buying the brand new vehicles. Mine is 5 years old and I'm keeping it until I retire.

Great story. My parents have a million. My dad always drive a beater car to work. My mom got the nicer car. They fully invested in his 401k. Worked there for 45 years. Retired at 65 with a pension and large 401k. Now they are building their retirement dream home.

No. I'm not saying that at all. Just pointing out a common theme in the millionaire stories Dave posts.

don't get me wrong. I love kids. I just think that its not fair to post these "millionare at 50!" stories when most people, who work normal jobs, have kids and won't have this. Of course if someone is a Dr. or high class lawyer they can become millionaires with kids, but making 100k a year with 4 kids.. you won't be a millionare at 50, unless you live in a dirt house.

The "long view" which Paul repeatedly (and correctly) mentions may not be compatible with his girth and lack of fitness.
