In another course they say that the rule for addition and subtraction is only taking in account the decimal places. I even use a significant figures calculator on internet and the result for 1540 + 327.40 + 0.267 is 1868, not 1870 like you said. Could it be two different methods for the same thing ? That is confusing

When u changed the 5400 to scientific notation, do u have to keep those zeros there? Or is 10^3 enough for nformation

Question. I only bring this up because you mentioned order of operations in the example with the fraction where the numerator has two terms to add. Wouldn't you first divide each term by 0.50? Because of P E M D A S?

Doesn’t matter you’d get the same thing anyways. Since both are in the numerator and it’s not separated you can assume it’s in parentheses

You wouldn't divide by 0.50 because you do operation in parenthesis first

Hey Abdallah, as I explain around 16:40 we have to propagate the correct number of significant figures all the way through these types of calculations
