This is the first episode in this build series and the longest one I have ever uploaded. There is a lot of work that goes into the hull to get it to the point where you can put some paint on it. That's what this video is all about. Future videos should be much shorter.
To see how to make serious corrections to the hull in order to get the most "accurate" build possible, check out Nigel's Modeling Bench here on KZbin. But be warned, he is conducting VERY advanced modifications to the hull. His techniques may not be suitable for beginners. But definitely go give his channel a "LIKE" and "SUBSCRIBE". He does amazing work.

Thanks David! I wrestle with that a lot. How long to make a video and how many to make. I felt like I could get away with this because almost all of the hull prep work is in one video. I could have cut a bunch of stuff out. But it still would have easily been an hour long.

I was listening to music and then stumbled upon the two of you....I love creating and working with models (I am in the middle of handcrafting a double-hulled Hawaiian voyaging canoe...48" outriggers bow to stern....milled and carved the wood) and appreciate the challenge of working from scratch. I will be watching this project you are working on...it looks to be a real beauty! Thank you for your service (me....tour of duty Viet Nam 1967-1968 USARV). Best wishes to both of you.

you are one of the people i admire on this hobby , researching everything to the last detail, making corrections on the kit, adding all sorts of missing stuff etc. I doubt I'd have such patience, i much prefer to just build the kit straight away, so kudos to you sir

Thanks Mike! I honestly don’t do that “much” research. I benefit a lot from others who I consider subject matter experts. And yes, I too enjoy building a model straight out of the box after any big in-depth project. That’s why I have my little Ban Dai Star Wars kits sitting off to the side when I need a quit and easy break.

Aircraft Maintainer for 35 years! Air Force! I loved everyday of it! I retired last April. I worked A-7's way back in the late 80's and the rest of my career from about 1991 was F-16's! It was such a wonderful career! Contrary to the t shirt I don't want my "MRE". :) I know this video is 2 years old, (How did you know I would be watching this two years later? ) :) but somthign that might be fun is artists doing paintings to hang on the walls of the build. Not sure what teh scale size of that would be and perhaps that is crazy I don't know. :)

Very first episode and we get an 80 minute video; hope this is a sign of things to come.👍😁 I'm only about 12 minutes in and I can't say Im all that impressed with the kit. Going by the flaws on the hull pieces, probably considered the two most important parts of the kit, it looks like you're going to be spending a lot of time fixing 𝑡ℎ𝑒𝑖𝑟 𝑖𝑛𝑎𝑑𝑒𝑞𝑢𝑎𝑐𝑖𝑒𝑠 - not a great start. And 80 minutes just flew by. Loads of progress, probably because you've got help this time.😁 The "paint a passenger" scheme is genius, I wonder how many you'll get. My painting skills, or lack of, rule me out of helping but it should be a whole lot of fun, seeing what, or who, everyone sends in. I'm really looking forward to this build, especially as it's a passenger vessel, rather than a warship. Herself should have no trouble finding "Tales from the Titanic" for each episode; there's just 𝒔𝒐 much written about the ship, her passengers and the crew. Cheers for now, Dougie.
