The first version of the Charger with its classic Cragars and blower hot rod look, and the Fast Five Charger with its sinister incognito look with blacked out paint job and larger black wheels are hands down my two favorite versions of the Fast and Furious Charger. I go back and forth on which one I prefer.

+Video-gamer-for-life Were you using the AMT kit? I've heard there were a lot of problems with those.

Yea it was the AMT kit. I could live with the bad fender stuff happens, but knowing I paid up for this kit and it looked like they took a bunch of pieces from the Dukes of hazzard kit and tossed a blower on it that don't fit on the intake correct was pretty disappointing. Plus the instructions said to paint the interior tan and that was one of many times that I threw the instruction sheet and said some words.... For parts tho there was very little for the AMT kit

Excellent work! These are some of my favorite kits to build and seeing what you did with them makes me want to build another! Only thing I noticed was the tires on the fast and furious 4 charger need to be wider kinda like the ones on the fast five charger. Other than that the attention to detail was amazing! Great work!

Thanks! Yeah, at the time (mid-2010), those wheels seemed the best option, but then I later found the Pegasus wheels I used on Dom's Chevelle...same style, but wider footprint. Going back and fixing them is one of the things on my "to do" list when I finally move these from their current storage to permanent display.

I noticed on the f&f4 car that you done a mesh blower intake. If i remember right, the car letty built had BDS butterflies in the blower

You're right on the BDS butterflies. The mesh seemed to come and go depending on the shot, sometimes appearing/disappearing for a single cut in the middle of a scene. I wanted to include it since it was one of the things that made this car unique, though ideally it should be finer than what I used

i always thought the one from the first movie was cool but i felt the blower was goofy looking and the tires were to small for it to be a 9 second car. glad they changed that in the forth movie. but to be honest the fast five charger is my favorite

Skinny tires aside, I always liked the traditional look of the first movie Charger. You could tell it was powered by anger and explosions, there was nothing even remotely sophisticated about it.

I must say that all time it takes for one built to get smallest details on movie car is incredibly difficult to do in anything smaller than 1/24 scale and then come out amazing wonderful is great to see. P.S. since it has been more than 5 years since Paul walker passed away are you planning to built another one's of this car form ff5.

These were taken from Revell's '63 Corvette convertible kit, but you can also find similar wheels from Pegasus' aftermarket selection. Their smaller version is #1274 "T's," and their larger is #2301 "T's."

man, how did you do the door panel rivets on the original? and is that an aftermarket blower?

The panels were made from aluminum repair tape, and to make the rivets I just ran a pounce wheel (available at any craft store) across the back of the tape before I pulled it off the backer. Quick & easy rivets, all evenly spaced, in seconds. No, the blower is the one that came with the Charger. I added fuel lines on the first car, and lowered the hat to reflect the EFI used on the F4 and later cars

eBay is the most reliable source for the old metal kits, but Revell has a new styrene one due soon

Jim Clark That's a good idea, I may do that once I get the bench cleared off (well, sort of - I doubt it will ever be truly "clean"). I have kits for both the H&M Coyote and Joe Dirt's Daytona, so they're both possibilities
