Good to hear a fellow Brit. I'm in pretty much the exact same situation as him. I would consider a Lifetime ISA too. I just opened one recently, I plan on using the Help to Buy ISA for the first home and the Lifetime ISA purely for retirement. I feel like given you can't withdraw until you're 60 it "forces" you to think longer term and not sell. You can of course still sell and move money around in the ISA and buy other stocks but I feel like it incentivises you to not sell and not withdraw knowing it's a retirement account by definition. £4k max deposit which goes towards your 20k ISA limit overall.

Hey Gali, nice job getting this series going! I've been doing a similar thing on my channel since November but decided I'd do another portfolio with the same approach you're doing. Love it. With that said, you might want to consider inflation on that $250 every two weeks. In 2050 that's more like $2k every 2 weeks! Makes a big difference for your long term projections!

I'm not a financial advisor etc. etc. but this is what I do......As a long term investor in the UK, we are allowed to add £20k (~$25.5k) to a stocks and shares ISA each year which is tax free. (I don't know the US system but probably similar to a Roth IRA but without the final age restriction?). I make use of this allowance to avoid capital gains tax, especially now that the CGT allowance has now dropped to just £3k. One caveat is losses cannot be set against gains elsewhere but for relatively safe growth stocks such Tesla, it's a no-brainer for me.

great stuff Gali! Do you use Discounted Cash Flow models for valuating Tesla? any other kind of model? Ive started a model using Net Income as a proxy for Free Cash Flow (Martin Shkreli model). Im wondering what you use, how do you forecast (ie, what are your main metrics, 50% CAGR for deliveries?, etc.) Also wondering what the most important financial metric to look at, my guess is Operating Income, but I see wall street and Tesla focus a lot on EBITDA and adjusted EBITDA. thanks!

G2Milly, great idea, well executed, loving the new show. Diversifying is something to do later when you are at an age when you need to avoid risk. I learned not to dabble in things not understood, got burned on SPACs that way. Go with your (Buffet) circle of competence for your picks or a market tracker for anything else.

I slightly disagree with your advice to Tyler. Imo the goal of financial planning is to maximise how much cool shit you can do in life. Warren Buffet would give away all his money to get back his youth, as you say yourself. A dollar in your 20s is really valuable because by the time you're 60 it can have compounded so many times. However a dollar in your 20s is really valuable because there's a lot of powerful and profound life experiences you can only have then which are much harder later. If you want to travel and have kids make sure you travel first, it's not the same after. If a close relative or friend is getting married don't miss it to save etc. Some people don't snowball enough and that is a mistake and it's cool you're encouraging that. And it's also a mistake to be some rich old guy with a tonne of money, nothing fun to spend it on, wishing to go back and get to go to the parties they missed.

@@KiiNGsTeR. Travelling is definitely better while you're young. No one over 50 wants to sleep in a youth hostel dorm room. Also another potential avenue for someone with skills like a carpenter is to work overseas for a charity or business project etc. Might be possible to see some of the world and get paid or at least travel + expenses paid for etc. Everything is a balance, glad things are going well in general :)

I think the ICE OEMs are playing the long game. They are trying not to cannibalize their ICE revenue while hoping that battery tech improves and decreses in cost while they transition over. So it's important that they slow the transition as much as possible. The problem with this is that the EV only OEMs are gaining experience in reducing their COGS. Also once their employee numbers drop enough and there are enough domestic alternatives to GM, Ford, Stellantis, there will be a fading possibility of getting bailed out.

Thoughts on the upcoming downside to Coinbase, how much business will move away a with ETF introductions. There's a race to bottom on the ETF fees with Fidelity and others fighting it out. Hard to say how quickly some will move to ETF's over the next year or so, but Coinbase will likely lose a percentage of business after introduction.

Got some more EVs here in Europe. Notably, Stellantis recently announced a new hatchback Citroen e-C3 for less than 24k EUR with availability in "Spring 2024" and that is inclusive of VAT. Hi Gali, great idea doing G 2 Milly account not just for yourself, but for your followers. May I suggest hold this account as less diversified and create a 2nd account with 1k that is diversified without adding everyweek, but with high growth high risk Ark invest type stocks and others in the commodities sector that have been smashed with high inventories and high rates in the last 2 years. If you watch the latest Allinpod friedberg predicts commodities to recover 2024 and I agree. Many on the ASX that I follow i believe will have a huge upside as rates decline and as long as no black swan ww3 event they will exceed the S&P 500 and broader mkt and profits can eventually be used adding to Tesla at a later date.
