1-3-1 Motion Basketball Offense

1-3-1 Motion Basketball Offense is a great Basketball play that you can use against man to man defences and zone defences. This Basketball Offense will give you options to score layups or three point shots. Another nice thing about the 1-3-1 Motion Basketball Offense is that if you have a traditional center and the rest of your team is forwards or guards this offense will work really well.

Coach I like your videos. Most of the youth zone defense I face is a 2-1-2 and the forwards play lower protecting back door. It really congested down low. Our best bet will be attack middle.

Attack the middle and have the low post player seal his man on the inside. This will allow him to be open for the high to low pass and may get a layup in the middle of the key. If not and it draws a double he may be able to kick out for a 3 or a mid range shot

Hey Coach! Just about to introduce my team to this offence. Can you just clarify where 5 should be Vs zone defence? Vs man you have him ball side, Vs zone you seem to have him opposite the ball but don’t say he should be there specifically. Is this deliberate, or should he be ball side to create an overload?

If my players are right-handed, my best shooter would be at the LEFT WING

maybe... but there is different footwork that can let right handed players shoot successfully from either side
