Sir i have a confusion,first g.general of bengal was Warren Hastings But ist g.general of India was lord William bentick.Bengal is also a state of India um lil confused.

Hello!I have the answer to ur question. See,Bengal is a part of India,agreed. But Bengal is only 1 state out of 29 of them. So when u say that how come then there can be another 1st g.genral be; when Lord William Bentick became a g.general, he became general of all the states ,all 29 one of them, but Warren Hastings was only the 1st general of Bengal. Bengal alone. Hope it helps!
