Having to remove the torso everytime you want to switch the lights on is asking for trouble, you increase chances of getting paint chips if the torso is constantly going on and off, bad design choice.

Looks pretty good overall. I agree the portraits both need work. XM/LBS can we step out of the 70's and get rid of of switched for lights. All statues by now should have a small control to turn on all light up features. At this price point it should be standard practice!

Jay announced that he will make some changes for the better. as for the light up feature, we just have to wait and see but there are pros and cons with AC Adaptor as well. for me, a seperate place for battery will make it a whole lot easier to repair.

Nice review Art!!! The Tony Stark portrait is actually my favourite lol. I really love the yellow in the gold, I love the XM statue, but I prefer the Yellow/Gold to just gold. The yellow reminds me more of the classic Layton run of comics. For me just gold is more the movies..... All around though....love it. Nice addition to my favourite line!!!

Such an awesome piece, great video! Not for me but I am really looking forward to seeing their DC pieces. I love the plug in base. They need to get rid of batteries in statues in my opinion. I hope P1 is paying attention, and Murder Machine is usb as well.

Great review! Like when you did the side by side comparisons with the other statues. Unmasked portrait is a little off. But overall I like this statue. All 4 Avengers look great together!

This piece is a big let down for me, the iconic classic suit didn't have armored sections on the arms & legs, I was expecting the Bob Layton armor when this was announced.

I think it's inspired by buddy, rather than exactly like the Layton era style armour. I think its a nice nostalgic tribute with nods to that armour, but with some cool detail too. I like that LBS has done a second modern torso for people that like that option. Overal I think it looks awesome!!!

I am not a Marvel guy but I am so excited for their DC pieces. Superman looks great so far. I say it's about time P1 got some competition because those guys have been going off the rails recently. 1/4 pieces out of nowhere, pointless cross hatching details, WAY too many statues being announced than ones getting release, etc. Hopefully this will be good for both. What do you think of LBS Superman so far?

i agree. there needs to be a competition otherwise companies won't improve. i think LBS Superman looks great so far. just have to see the rest or even the full prototype. i have faith in Jay and his company. very excited for the future line. hopefully he can get the DC pieces going this year.

The 70s/80s era Stark head makes no sense when he is clearly in a modern day armor, the design choices for this piece are a mess, it should have either been a faithful classic 70s/80s armor OR a modern one, instead we've got a mishmash of both.

There's two torsos, you don't have to display the retro Tony sculpt with modern. I don't think it was ever advertised as Exact Bob Layton style armour. I love Bob Layton, and for me this is still reminiscent of that classic style armour he drew. I love it.

@@Dickie2shoes I think it's a little rude to call it a mess buddy, it's cool to critique, but that comments a little too OTT. People worked damn hard on this, and it shows. Nobody ever said you would be getting an exact out and out Bob Layton style classic armour, it's insprired by instead. I'm a huge fan of that era of comics, and I think the suttle changes on the classic torso actually look cool. Your entitled to your opinion of course, but have to disagree with the "It's a mess comment entirely" Damn nice statue, with a lot of thought gone into the different modern and classic options for collector's. That's my thoughts anyway 🤷‍♂️

This has Alex Ross style all over it, and looks great! I do wish companies could stop using battery light up. Overall, this is a fantastic blend of a few styles that meshes well with the Avengers set up. Had they not used lines to break up the armor, it would look toy like, so I understand the deviation from the classic IM. They need to punch up the light in the arc reactor.That portrait is Tony Stark all the way, but could lighten up the paint a little. Great job!

It is Alex Ross style which is cool and all. i know some people prefer it to be comic accurate but i am glad they mix it up. he looks great over all. as for the skin tone, he will lighten it up.

I really love the sculpt where you can see his face and his helmet is flipped up. This is a slippery slope, makes me want to get the Hulk and Venom, Spider-Man, and Thanos when they come out in the future. I really appreciate XM/LBS going all in on this line. Hope to see even more! By the way, what's the depth of your shelf where you had all 4 displayed?

yes, i am impressed with what LBS is doing. Venom is looking great also. this year, the line up with be Ironman, Thanos, Venom, and Wolverine. my shelf depth is 25.5 inches btw

no, the AC adaptor only lights up the base. The torso has it's own battery compartment.

Mixed feelings about it! Love the Ferrari red but hate the yellowish gold, love the modern torso/portrait but hate the Tony Stark headsculpt! Plus the classic armor has a mishmash of modern and classic elements so i don't get the art direction, and the light up feature is trash by todays standards, XM should have done the same system as their Thanos statue, a remote control! Waiting for the price but possibly a hard pass.

they are so different. LBS is 1/3 and a classic suit while XM is modern with the gantry.

Yea that unmasked portrait looks very Spanish and not so much caucasian and he is a little over scale. I also don't like that you don't get the extra torso base unless you get the exclusive. Otherwise the base and sculpt of the Original costume looks great. Also love the light up features. Overall it's ok but not as impressive as I was hoping it would be. Still it is a 4/5 for me.

Huge meh, their 1/4 it`s a clear winner and a better piece by far! The art direction on this 1/3 statue it`s all over the place, from the lame outdated light up system, to the modern design stuff on a classic armor! Big fail!

XM will require a kidney, not a toe or a finger but a whole limb....same as their Hulk, cool stuff but expensive as hell, i know for certain this will easily pass 2K barrier so i don’t even bother getting excited about XM pieces anymore! They’ve priced too many people out of hobby and left too much of a bitter taste for me!!!
