That stitching effect really does go above and beyond the call of duty!

Interesting videos, very nice detailing techniques. I learned something, thanks for that.

I'm searching some reference videos approaching the build of the same topic. I was impressed by the techniques you used for cabling/wiring/controlling apparatus. Overall the oil colors give the wood effect a realistic outcome. I am really really impressed and will try to take away something for my next model. Thanks

I've only just come across your channel and really enjoy what you do and have done. I am currently building the same aircraft and am really glad to have a sounding board to compare and assist with my build. To say that I was gob-smacked by the totally unnecessary comment from Panzer Chicken (PC) who has totally missed the whole concept of sharing on KZbin.....it is a hobby and should be fun....it's not a competition nor a venue for critiques when it's not requested. I have built and will continue to build my WnW kits (in my stash) and other WW1 kits, while not anywhere near perfect as I am a mediocre modeller, they have given me endless hours of enjoyment (and frustration at times) but ultimately I have been pleased with MY results and too bad if others think differently. Obviously PC wasn't in the right mood when he wrote the critique. Carry on.....we will return over and over again. Robert

I'm in the process of building every Triplane that Manfred von Richtofen flew (That I can confirm). The last two I've built (127/17 and 161/17) I did the stitching on the rear wall of the cockpit. It's a detail most don't even know exists. The first few tripes I did I painted the base color of green then streaked the blue (F.1 102/17) or Khaki over the green. For 127/17 and 161/17 I actually mixed white paint with a little bit of khaki to make an off white bleached linen color. I hand brushed this over the fuselage sides and upper surfaces as well as the upper surfaces of the wings and cockpit interior. Once dried, I paint the wings the way they were actually painted... streaked green over bleached, doped linen. That's how I'll do it for the remainder of the tripes I build.

Amazing Wayne, it looks like you will have your own Staffel. I had an Idea to build all planes MvR flew, but when I had this idea WnW was not in the business (it was early 2000s) and there were not a lot of his plane models in 1/32, so I decided not to follow that idea... Good luck to you!!!!

@@FlyingCircusModels I currently have the V.4 Prototype, F.1 102/17, Dr.1 152/17 and Lothar's 454/17 finished. Those four kits were the Hobbycraft F.1 and Dr.1 kits (the kits are the same, only the decals are different). Dr.1 114/17 (finished) and 127/17 (awaiting decals) are both from Roden. I have five more six more Roden Triplane kits (both the Dr.1 and F.1 kits) in the stash. I have a Roden Albatros D.II and the Airco DH.2 that I'm planning on doing an 'Adversaries' build of MvR and Lanoe Hawker's battle in which Hawker lost his life. I also have the Encore Blue Max Pfalz D.III...

Very informative video! What gauge medical tubing and thread size so you use for the support cables? (I’m about to start on a Meng Dr I)
@FlyingCircusModels3 жыл бұрын
Hi Charles, thank you for feedback, usually I use 0.6mm needles (blue ones), sometimes 0.4 mm (pink), but very rear and not for this model. For thread just wire that I bought in hobby shop, do not know the brand, it's about 0.1mm, I think...

I have the Meng DR1 in my stash, too, to go alongside the Wingnut Wings Camel F1.

Hi loving the build video’s, quick question where or which brand do you use for gauges decals for Roden kits? I have the Dr.1 next on the table hope mine comes out half as good as yours!

Thank you, I use airoscale decals, like this ones - www.ebay.ca/itm/304957751589?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=j7kKu-veR6-&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=G4CjmZQcR7u&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Not asossiated with the seller, just like the example

Wonderful work! What are you using for wire?
@FlyingCircusModels3 жыл бұрын
Usually I use a black wire for jewlery making, it's about 0,1mm
