The Panther F Schmale turm started as Rheinmetall drawing entitled "Turm-Panther (Schmale Blende)" dated 1 March 1944 (Panther turret with narrow gun mantlet). Because of the increase in height (for the range finder) the project was handed over to Daimler-Benz, which modified the design to lower the height (the range finder, a German invention, was still used). Basically the only differences in the regular Panther G turret and the F proposal was the narrowed front and the conical gun mantlet, as well as greater wall thickness from 40mm to 60mm on the sides and rear, 30mm roof, from 16mm,and the front from 100mm on the G to 120mm (F) with 150mm "saus head" conical mantlet. The gun to be used was a KWK 44 L 70, not the KWK 42 L 70, of which it was an extensive modification, no longer requiring the muzzle brake, as the recoil force was increased to 18 tons from the former 12 tons in the KWK 42. The recoil mechanisms were also moved under the gun, enabling a narrowed front plate of the F. With the range finder and a stabilized gun sight, it would have been a very formidable weapon indeed, able to take on any allied vehicle at much greater ranges, with a first hit probability (the first round fired), it was estimated, at 75%, while on the move, a first in WWII.

you forgot the f/g hybrid and the fact that the bow gun was replaced with a stg 44

@@oddball759mm Thank you very much ! , Since now the hot phase begins with me, with the camouflage painting for an ambush camouflage of Dragon's Panther F version from 1:35 scale to 1:16 this unknown unit Berlin 1945. Since this I like much better.

Sir, sense you built it for yourself, I would think that you would build it accurately, for yourself. Apparently accuracy is not one of your strengths, as there is a Glaring Mistake on the engine deck, as the Ausf.G and the proposed Ausf. F only used the air louvers on the starboard air intakes for the radiators. You have them on the starboard and port intakes. The port side would have only used the pie wedges on the crew heater tower to direct the hot air into the fighting compartment and not out of the vehicle. Also, there were modifications to the G hull, with the roof in front of the turret thickened to 40mm, the hatches modified to lift slightly and push, hence the two guides outboard of each hatch, whereas your model has the Ausf. G spring loaded hinged hatches. Look up these modifications in Thomas L. Jentz' book "Panzer Tracts No. 5-4". Despite the mistakes, useing the kit you used, it is a remarkable job.

it's arguably a paper panzer so this does open up some creative licensing. Also for my 1/35 builds I don't focus too much on getting the build as accurate as possible, Like I mention in the intro I just more or less build it out of the box with one or two tweaks to polish the kit further. For more accuracy I save this effort and time for my 1/6th scale works since it is appreciated and noticed more in the larger scale than in 1/35
