1/48 ICM B-26B Marauder, Build Series - Part 1: Intro

ICM is climbing up the charts of the best model companies out there. I love that they have YT videos of 3D step by steps instructions on their builds. I wish every company did that. I'll definitely buy this one.

My personal opinion, ICM are a bit over-rated and over-priced for what they produce. I would expect to see this more in the $65-80 price point for what you get in the box. Not an MSRP in the USA of $130. Although you can find it much cheaper online. I don’t see much improvement in detail and quality from them in past 5 years. In some respects they may have regressed with the detail quality. Especially when you look how far someone like Airfix has come in that time. But they still build to a solid kit. Despite the soft, thin and rubbery plastic. But that is just my personal opinion.

Hello ! ICM is the rising brand. They master 3D modeling and marketing. The plastic used is ideal for a lazy modeler. They score a lot of points and that's good ! I'm currently building the A26 Invader with figures and it's pretty cool. Small downside for the "scratch build" side that they seem to particularly like :o) This will perhaps improve with time and the geopolitical context, in any case, I wish it to them with all my heart.

I watched your inbox review vid and now my KZbin is full of Marauder documentaries lol. If it wasn't for the $150 CAD price tag this kit would look smashing hanging from my modelling corner ceiling. I love the flying cigar's WW2 sleekness.

I deleted that review after being educated that a B-26 Marauder is different from the other B-26. 🙄 You can find them cheaper at other places. Cheapest I have seen in US is $89.99.

The B-26 was flush riveted. You can barely see them on the real aircraft, so ICM got it right. No need to add rivets

I will rivet on my model as I prefer the look and the extra detail. I don’t build for historical accuracy, just what looks good on my shelf.
