He pretty clearly said with Alchemy he's doing it to self-sustain his own elixir usage, and to generate ingredients he will actually use rather than just purely power-leveling like people typically do. The clips he showed were while leveling up his alchemy on a new account, you're not always going for the most efficient profit when you're just trying to level up quickly. But in this case specifically, he was making things he actually intends on utilizing in the future once he has higher mastery. I appreciate you giving real world advice to discourage new players from losing money (especially with the current state of Alchemy in the game), but it feels like it's only fair to at least let the guy get his thoughts and explanations out before you start trying to break down and disprove his "profit allegations."

If you gather everything (like me), and you have 2k mastery on alchemy and cooking(also, like me) you get a lot of profit. As you should know that every lifeskill is interconnected. If you want fast cash, grind. But if you want the hardmode while using your brain, do lifeskills.

See, this is the issue. People think that you can just cook and make silver. No. A lifeskiller uses MULTIPLE lifeskills in order to make their silver. I don't cook anymore, but I can easily alch and make 3-5 bil in an hour or two span after gathering my materials and still making silver while doing so. Lifeskilling is not 1:1 like grinding is. You guys think about it too linearly

@@Neek0tine To be honest, it mostly comes down to what you enjoy with lifeskilling. You can gather at places like Pilgrim's Haven or Behr and gain raw materials used for Alchemy, you can Hunt Rhinos/Shadow Wolves/Shadow Lions in Odyllita for Cooking materials or you can also Barter and make pretty good money once you get everything setup (Epheria Sailboat, Barter levels, etc). I personally enjoy Hunting in Odyllita because it's mega chill and gives really good money even if you don't want to cook anything. The neat part about Hunting is that it's mostly reliant on your clothes. Like every other lifeskill, you heavily benefit from higher mastery, but you can still pull upwards of 10k wolf meat per hour with Tet loggia accessories, Tri Manos Hunter's clothes and a +10 Artisan Matchlock. That entire setup costs MAYBE 3-4 bil and you can easily recoup the cost within a couple hours of getting the rotation down. People tend to recommend against lifeskilling until you're 1,500+ mastery, but that's genuinely not difficult to hit, and not necessarily a requirement. For most life skills in the game, I think Tet Loggia with Tri Manos clothes and a Tet Manos tool (or even the tools from Norma at Northern Wheat Plantation where you rent for Contribution Points) are completely fine for just about anything you're doing. The entry cost is MUCH lower for lifeskilling as compared to grind spots where you would make comparable silver per hour ranging anywhere from seasonal gear (would be more difficult for a new player to pull off) to 200+ bil worth of gear to be comfortable (the cost disparity is class/experience/spot dependant). In summary, I'd try out a couple different options and pick whichever one you enjoy the most and stick to it long enough to get yourself full Tri Manos accessories and Tet clothes for whatever your main lifeskill is. At that point, you'll easily be making a bil an hour and can afford to get different tools/clothes for the other lifeskills that pique your interest. For anyone else reading this, it's just suggestions; not a rulebook to follow, nor am I saying it's the most optimal way of playing. Play the game however you enjoy it. Hope this helps!

I tried cooking valencia meals with 2k mastery several times. So to make it fair, I didn't want to spend time on gathering things and putting smaller meals together but just bought everything from market to make sure that its a fair hourly profit/loss and I made 0-50m an hour depending on the time I did it 😂

There are a few recipes that can make decent profit if you buy the required mats from central market, but such mats are always out of stock with too many preorders 😅

Pretty easy to get val meal to 500m/hour on bdolytics while buying all materials on the market. some sub meals u make urself, others u buy. no gathering or any of that. This is on EU though, no clue how the market is on NA in regards to cooking. But 0-50m seems crazy. Also. Val meal is not even close to being one of the most profitable meals to make when buying everything off the market. Atleast not on EU. And ofc I account for any materials that are not buyable from the market cuz of POs.

Idk how the market situation is in NA. but in EU it's fairly easy to get 1b/hour from cooking with 2k mast and 1,7 sec timer while buying everything from the market (no gathering / hunting). It's not as good as grinding, and u're looking at having POs on 50+ items which u constantly gotta manage. Not alot of effort, but can become abit tedious. of course u're also bottlenecked by the fact that u can make certain meals faster than they sell. since i only cooked for profit for a long time, i used to do 5-6 different meals in order to never stock up too many in my storage. some examples of meals to make on EU for around 1b profit / hour: mediah, odylitta, organic feed, ham sandwich. mediah and ham sandwich selling slowly though. I could see some of these meals reaching 1,5b / profit if u buy materials when they are cheap and sell the meals when they are expensive. Point being. it's not as good as grinding. but u're definitely not loosing money on cooking if u know what u're doing.

you can make 1-2bil/hr buying of marketplace and just cooking at 2k mastery / 1sec cooking but only on very specific stuff and very specific times XD. Its even possible to make money on Valencia, you just have to not combine everything sell and buy stuff but like liquidation is a problem. And it depends on the market. also like 2 years ago bracken was like nearly 2bil/hr at 2k... when the first 1 sec slow cooking events came out

Tbh, stir fried vegetables is a pretty good way to make money. And it's super cheap/fast to do. All you need is the magical peppers from farming which if you're like me that turns off the game over night and only keeps it on during the day you can get 2x harvests daily. It's ok money you can do afk while working at home.

If you're not actively grinding but not having an extended AFK, setting up a cooking/processing/alchemy queue is just free money. Yea if you're actually playing the game and wanna get stuff done, it's a waste of time and time you could be gathering more mats or something Cooking profits have dramatically dropped int he last 9 months when I look at bdolytics, though - its crazy

I am a pure life player, and only farmed about 600,000 monsters since 2017, including hunting and gathering animals and monsters that drop unlimited potions and compass. From 2017 to 2022, due to many reasons (I was working part-time while going to school at that time), I was basically hanging up. From 2023 to the present, in about one year and a half, I have accumulated more than 1 trillion assets purely relying on life skills (at TW server, often excessive competition leads to underpriced items). The main income comes from cooking and alchemy, and some income comes from hunting and gathering. Unlike the guy in the video, I never got into sailing gameplay because it was already nerfed by the time I started making money. With a proficiency of 2000, cooking can usually generate 0.8 to 1 billion per hour, profit margin of 70% to 200%. while alchemy can generate 0.5 to 1.5 billion, but there is usually a material bottleneck. This is where I spend a lot of time to optimize my pipeline such as - choosing the right items (some items have high profit margins but low turnover). - determining the right production scale (small scale production wastes more time, while large scale production can lead to Sluggish sales). - determine the appropriate sales strategy to achieve. - Plan production schedule (ensure there is no shortage of materials and production can be continued). The efficiency of hunting and gathering is about 1 billion per hour. In fact, the collection method can achieve 1.6 to 1.8 billion per hour, but that is a secret. Telling it will only prevent those who know from making money. I feel that players who started at the same time as me (from 2023) may not be able to reach this level (50 billion to 150 billion per month). So my experience proves the feasibility of pure life gameplay. People can get more than 740GS farming equipment, 2000 proficiency life equipment and some other combat equipment without farming.

I must tell u that u are wrong. There are things in alchemy and processing that gives way more profit then every avg Grindhour could give. We talking if the market is right 4b+ per hour. Only need some high mastery and a lot of money to invest into it. I do this for month now and have basicly everything thats usefull to get in lifeskill and grinding gear exept debo. Full on Lifeskill and the game is nearly completed for me since debo isnt my way to go. And even if it was i could easily get 1 pen debo in a month with only 2 hours active per day and many hours of AFK lifeskilling Im Guru 24 alchemy, 34 processing and gather on top. There might be things where u lose money but a lot of things where u make a shit ton of money. From what i have seen in ur Video u just blame every lifeskill without much knowledge about it. Im Happy to provide u with prove how i do this and what the profits are. Even hunting is easily 1.5b at guru+

Also I make 30 bil every 2 weeks supplying the pvpers with their elixirs. If i sold the mats raw id only make around 10 bil. So not sure where youre getting this "losing money while doing alchemy" from. Did you forget the prices of blue elixirs skyrocketed? And yes I gather all my mats. All of them. No one said wise man’s blood was an elixir in the context that it can be used as a consumable buff. As far as selling raw materials instead of doing cooking/alchemy it’s not worth arguing about but what I will say to reinforce what I stated in the video, the vast majority of players would make more money selling the raw materials than trying to make them into profitable meals or elixirs. It is designed this way as a trade off. You get exp but sacrifice some profit. This way super late game lifeskillers can in fact turn around a profit for doing these life skills. This is the way the game has been designed for a long time. I have also expressed that having 1 second cook time is quintessentially important to cooking in the past and in my cooking guide I put out earlier this year. Not sure why you are upset about that here, but if you have high enough mastery you can absolutely cook with the manos clothes on and a really good alchemy stone. You’ll have something like 1.2sec cook time but you get the 2k mastery with the clothes which is more than worth it!
