I grew up in the Fort and have now lived rural north of it. I get down there about once a month and find it exciting how much the downtown has grown and continues to thrive. I am even pondering it as a place to downsize to someday .

I love it! I think that’s what they’re going for is becoming a destination for all ages, not just 20 something’s. I moved to Orlando, FL for 12 years and moved back to a vibrant, rapidly changing city that looked nothing like what I left. Excited to see what’s ahead

How much we spent/owe and how much revenue it’s generated I cannot speak to. I think the key is not just what we spend, but how much revenue it generates. It’s definitely risky I won’t denied that. Thanks for checking out the video

I love all the development of residential all over downtown, but they all seem to be shorter high-dollar complexes. Three Rivers Apts. seems nearly full based on searches. When will an actual tall high-rise middle-class affordable apt. Building be put up right in the heart of DT? Seems ripe for it. Also heard the arena capacity went up to like 7-8K? Is that true? Awesome video

I think construction costs are too expensive to have below market rate rents. Rents will come down when there are more rentals on the market. So the more that get built, regardless of price point, the more supply will increase which will put downward pressure on prices. With the influx of population, however, that’s gonna take some time. I’m not sure about the arena I haven’t heard that update. Really appreciate you watching and taking the time to leave a comment. Means alot to me!

Thanks for the informative videos. In general, I like the idea of expanding the downtown landscape. However, I think we are missing entertainment etc. to keep people downtown. We need like movie theatres or multi level shopping malls to keep people in the downtown area. People go downtown for a tincaps game but do they stay and hang out afterward??

I wish someone would incorporate The Old Fort and build off that. I thought they were going to incorporate the railroad into the plan? But i guess they want they same brown and beige buildings any the other city has.

That I cannot speak to. The plans have been very fluid. I still think the city’s best days are to come!

The problem is the homeless population,which is increasing beyond the rescue mission and parks.

It is an unfortunate problem. I lived in Orlando for 12 years where it was out of control. Not sure what the answer is honestly

I pay $2000 in property taxes for a humble 50 year old house in the Georgetown area. Who needs to afford a vacation when you live in the same city built of by a "super team" of developers and the most expensive project in the Midwest?

For the same house in Toronto you would be paying 10000 to 15000 for your annual property tax you Americans got it made so stop complaining

@@mattwoody1089 That's like saying "Well, at least the cyber crooks who took $2000 out of my bank account didn't take $2500." Theft is theft. There's too much waste and political pilfering in the government, and just because the Canadian government steals more from it's citizens than the U.S. government doesn't mean I need to stop my voice about it.

The city that has no bike lanes anywhere. Shared use paths are glorified sidewalks which are terrible for serious cyclists.

Yea they’ve got some work to do. But course of action would be make your concerns heard by your local representative and city council!
