Just wanted to say I really appreciate the disclaimer in this video! As someone who's struggled with acne for many years, it can be really damaging to have well-meaning influencers with beautiful skin telling us that 'skincare is key' when it comes to minimal makeup, while we're out here trying every ruddy thing on the market to no avail. It's very lovely that you've thought of us and gone out of your way to acknowledge your privilege in that respect, and that you actively say you prefer the look of 'real' skin in whatever condition! Agreed. The more you appreciate your "imperfect" skin the less make up you feel the need to wear...which will improve skin in the long run.

Yes! When people review Glossier or any light coverage makeup, people are always like "this is only for people who have already perfect skin!" That is so wrong! Who says that people who have acne or pores or anything needs to cover it up!

I used to think that way about minimal makeup looks! I’ve had acne since I was like 11 and I’m almost 32. But this December, I decided to completely stop wearing foundation, and now, 2.5 months in, my skin is the best it’s been! It did take a period of time of basically dropping my pride and letting the world see my acne (which was not bad when I made this decision, but present!), and an adjustment period of getting used to not wearing face makeup, but I’m so happy now.

Thank you so much for the disclaimer! My skin has always been problematic and I appreciate it being acknowledged during a makeup video. That being said, I really love your videos on minimal makeup. Even if I can’t quite get away with it most days, it’s still fun to watch someone else’s routine!

For me, I always do under-eyes, brows and mascara because I think it really shapes and frames your face - plus my dark circles are so bad I have been asked multiple times if I'm ill so theres that! Lovely video Alix, and well done for addressing the skin thing! I can imagine if I were younger and seeing all these influencers with perfect skin it would make me feel so self conscious and aware of my own xxx

Just loved this video so much, Alix! Minimal makeup is my cup of tea as well ❤️❤️I always focus on well done eyebrows, blusher and a good lip (as long as it’s nude, like “my lips but better). However, I’d really enjoy to watch a video of you putting on a glam makeup look, i don’t know it would be just interesting to see how you’d do that nowadays. Sending loads and loads of love xxxx ❤️

I’ve had textured skin, large pores and breakouts since I was 11, and very dark circles (South Asian heritage), and I do prefer wearing minimal makeup, but it‘s still upsetting that if I had skin like yours or the other KZbinrs I see, the makeup that I do would take ten minutes, but it always takes me longer to lighten (not cover) my scars with the small amounts of coverage I use on them while trying not to make it look cakey at the same time. People don’t realise that minimal makeup can still look cakey on those with textured skin, it clings to the dry skin on the scars, so it’s not always as easy as to just be happy with your skin and do minimal makeup to embrace it

Loved these looks. I normally use the urban decay colour corrector as under eye concealer, benefit brow wiz and by Terri lipstick for lisps a cheeks then I use a mascara or leave it natural. What eyelash curler do u use?

Loved this, thank you! My everyday (work) make up consists of 5 products: concealer, lots of bronzer, brow gel, mascara & lip balm. Takes me about 5 minutes, I'm obviously not as quick at 7 in the morning :D 💕

Mine is concealer, powder, mascara and lip balm. If i had a bit more time-blush and tinted lip balm o lipstick (sometimes I use it as a blush). If i have more than 10 minutes I'll use eyeshadow, maybe
