Hi Brian! Merry Christmas to you. I have driven for approximately 3 months in this exact same vehicle: 1.5 CVT. Interestingly, mine also has a few “Type S” options, and the previous owner even installed a Type R wing. I’m absolutely chuffed to bits. What a wonderful, reliable yet cool car. If you’d allow me, I’d like to share some of my experiences . In my opinion, the car has four distinct ways to drive it: eco, D, S and paddle shifting. To my own surprise, I prefer the eco mode. The CVT keeps the revs low and the acceleration gradual and smooth and the turbo barely spools up. It feels like a nimble, naturally aspirated engine. When I need more acceleration, it revs higher and gradually engages the boost for sufficient torque. The mileage is very decent: 7L/100km. D and especially S mode make the CVT rev the engine higher, and also seems to increase the fuel injection. I feel the throttle response is the same, but what’s different is the acceleration behavior. And the mileage: it plummets to 9L/100km. I’ve raved on quite a lot about the engine, and I could talk even more about the great fit and finish, surprisingly decent Garmin satellite navigation, cool styling, great practicality.. but allow me to wrap up by saying this is a wonderful vehicle. And the Honda badge is now extra cool with Red Bull Honda and Max Verstappen’s F1 win!! And finally - if you’re near Kildare in Ireland - be sure to check out Brian’s garage. Every time he sells one of these, he releases one of these videos. They’ve been a great resource for me when I was researching it. It’s also a testament to how good this car is, how much he loves them, and how well they sell and how happy its drivers are. Cheers!

What an amazing comments, some great practical information in there for anyone considering buying one ! Thank you very much nice comments also and for viewing the videos, it is nice when someone shares the same enthusiasm for a vehicle.. Hope you are enjoying your Christmas and I’m glad you are enjoying the car, what colour did you get is it red also?

Watching this again because I'm obsessed with the euro and Asian model 10th gens. I just noticed we don't have lumbar adjustments either. Or the speed limiter, or the camera that reads the speed limit signs. We don't have auto off at a red light or stop sign. No parking sensors, no headlight washers, no folding mirrors, no HDMI plug, no panoramic roof just regular sun roof. Your headlight stock on the column looks different too. Do you guys have rear fog lights? Is that why it looks like that? No adjustable head rests. Also all of our models have chrome around the windows. We have to buy vinyl kits from jetsvinyl to cover our chrome. We got really screwed here. Yes we have the coupe, and the SI. We also only have 2 engine options. The 2.slow non turbo, and the the 1.5 turbo which has VTC instead of VTEC .

Wow I didn’t realise there was so many different spec anomalies!! You’re in Canada right ?
@vermontvermont9292 Жыл бұрын
@@doolanbrian even the Canadian specs are better than the usdm spec. I'm in Vermont USA. My coupe was built in Canada for the US market. So it's still in miles and miles per gallon. Looks like Europe and Asia got all the cool stuff. Like Australia with their RS model. Basically an SI that's CVT!

@@vermontvermont9292 I suppose the only good news here is that the price point for your car is much more aggressive, brand-new so our car was €34,000 brand-new . I think you guys can access these cars a lot cheaper?

@@doolanbrianI bought my 2019 coupe ex-t used with 10,000 miles. I paid $23,000 out the door. Also it was Honda certified. Beyond clean, and still had the new car smell. Now I'm at 56,000 miles and trade in is $18,500. That's what a local dealership offered me for it. I have a friend over there in Ireland and he has a 10th gen civic hatchback GT I think is what you call them? So we've been talking about all the differences between the civics here, and the civics over there. Your cars are more expensive, but you get a lot more too. Hopefully I can make it over to Ireland soon. So many things I want to see, not just civics 😆.

8:18 our cars here in the states don't show that. Not until the 11th gen did we get that feature. Seems like you guys got virtually every option. Same with Australia, and some south Asian countries. My 19 coupe was made in Canada but sold for the US market. It's an ex I THOUGHT it was pretty loaded until I started watching your videos 😆. We also don't have names like GT, or RS. Just sport, or LX, EX, EX-L, SI, and touring. Would love to get a European broucher from like 2019 and compare it to a US 2019.

Nice car i am planning to get a civic 1liter 3 cylinder engine, Any recall the common issue of 1.5 engine " fuel dilution of oil"?
@doolanbrian2 жыл бұрын
Hi There we have never had a case of oil dilution in Ireland so no recall is needed , what country do you live in ?? Our service intervals are 8000-10000kms but i hear that they service intervals are longer in the USA ??

My 2019 ext coupe is at 27,000 miles now. I've never had oil dilution. I also don't go for this change oil every 5,000-10,000 miles garbage. I do mine every 3,500 miles. I only use Honda OEM oil filters, or wix, and premium oil. Absolutely love the 10th gens, and the coupes. I've always driven manual as well, but this time I actually went with the CVT and it honestly doesn't bother me all. I do wish we got the auto folding mirrors, and some of those other cool little things you guys get.

Are hondas reliable?
@doolanbrian11 ай бұрын
As reliable as any modern car can be .. I think modern cars in general are less reliable with the amount of technology in them now but the 1.6 diesel and 1.5 petrol in honda has done well with reliability in Ireland 🫡 the 1.0 engine has had some issues but the honda after sales has been very strong to compensate.
