How to remove air filter box 1.6HDI Peugeot Citroen.
Sometimes the air filter box may be rattling, this is a sign that the rubber pads that secure it need to be replaced. If we need to replace the glow plugs, the EGR valve, the gas cooler, the coolant hoses, we will have to remove the air filter box, valid for Citroen Peugeot 1.6 HDI engines.

Many thanks, the rubber inserts need replacing on my noisy citroen C4, airbox, but its a lot of work to replace 3 pieces of rubber! I think the local garage may have to take that job!

You don't need to remove the battery or the fuel filter, just the air hoses to and from the air filter box, take off the wipers and the plastic cover at the bottom of the windshield, no need to mess with the battery or the filter

Salut! Nu chiar, de fapt filtrul de aer se inlocuieste relativ usor (bine, nu la fel de usor ca la alte masini), in acest clip am vrut sa arat cum poate fi demontata carcasa filtrului de aer pentru a avea acces la bujiile incandescente, EGR, etc. Filtrul de aer se înlocuiește asa: kzbin.info/www/bejne/nKepqZl7jMpmntU

La batería no hay que quitarla y el tubo por donde entra el aire tampoco. Se quita los limpias el plastico embellecedor el travesaño donde va atornillado el recipiente del liquido de frenos y el manguito que va al turbo y ya se tiene acceso a los tornillos de la caja del filtro del aire.

The battery does not have to be removed and neither does the tube through which the air enters. Remove the clean plastic trim from the crossbar where the brake fluid container and the hose that goes to the turbo are screwed and you now have access to the screws of the air filter box.

Wow this is ridiculous... Every other car I have owned the air filter has been on the bottom right of the engine. Easily accessible. This has clearly been designed this way to milk the owners of these cars. They could have easily put the air filter in the bottom right also. I was wondering why there was just a gaping hole and pipe on my car thinking it had no air filter... This is shocking.

Salut ,am același citroen c4 Picasso dar al meu nu merge mai mult de 125 ,130 km/ph în gol se poate accelera la maxim de turație ,dar in sarcină după 2600 turații nu mai trage,,ce o fi ? Are 360.000 km Dar se aude bine motorul Filtrul fap ie anulat din ce stiu Fum nu scoate Mai pierde ulei pe dedesubt dar nu papă ,sar înnegri spatele masini si ar scoate fum dacă ar păpa ulei, Dacă o duc mai ambalată ceva kilometri parcă își mai dă drumul dar niciodată nu trage cum trebuie mereu leneșă,,, spune-mi te rog ,ce ar fi?

That rattling does not occur in all air filter boxes, but in some it is heard when the engine is idling.

air box rattle due to missing or split damper rings at the bottom, only available from dealers or france parts online eventually the air box will chafe through the egr valve at the top,hope this helps.

Salut. Da,am probleme cu EGR-ul. De vreo 50000km apare pe tester ca nu poate să-și facă cursa completa, masina are acum 290000 km. Am piesa noua cumparata dar nu am avut timp sa o schimb. În vara urmează sa o schimb
