Thank You!! When I do my ships ( or Any other model ) as long as it is of a Real ship, aircraft, or tank.... I spend about 70% of My time in JUST Research alone!! Looking at books, InterNet, articles that I am familiar with and Even foreign material ..... which is the Hardest to understand and translate. For example.... even though I understand a Little Spanish, I have a couple of books, pamphlets on the Three (3) Spanish A/C carriers that I will be doing Much later......... but Many pictures help with details, sailor stories help with information About the ship.

Great modelling. Enjoyed the video very much and love the result you got. It looks very realistic. I love the waterline and lower hull options, also the history and information on the models 👍👍👍

Thanks 'Brtree74', I spend a LOT of time researching the models that I produce, from Internet, DVD's, and old fashion way...books. This one was a bit difficult because the research for the(se) ship(s) is in Japanese, so relying on 'Wikipedia' for history elements. But the pictures I was able to find again were mostly in Japanese so a bit difficult to understand the pics subtitles unless I go to a translator. As far as paints, I generally go by the instructions directions and I go-out-of-way to get those paints, but I like Model Master paints (acrylic). As far as detail, the PE was extremely difficult, because they don't make that PE set for a certain ship anymore....unlike your Columbo Express (which I do have a set of PE and decals for containers), but even now that Express set is getting rare to buy.

WOW!! The weathering looks good on that last ship, but no hanger detail like on your JMSDF Haruna?? But again, much detail on your work, excellent!
@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P4 жыл бұрын
I like to do things a bit different on each kit....and since JS Haruna is a little similar to JS Shirane I didn't add hanger detail to this build. But, thank you for the comments.......wait till you see my JS Hyuga DDH-181! (Coming soon) Lastly, thanks for subscribing!!!!

Wow!! That's a lot of Crazy Work!! I have that ship, but its a newer version (J74E), it is full hulled And Has photo-etch. Do you have a build-in-progress list to show how to build this kit???
@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P3 жыл бұрын
Thanks 'Blu DaBeagle', this kit was Quite old and like most of PitRoad of that time, there were 'waterline', no lower hull with screws and rudders ( which to me... seems silly if you are building a model ship, its like showing Just the part of a sub that you see........ you should have options!! ). The PE (photo-etch) is Even MORE Rare!!! I had to search on the 'Evil-bay' to purchase the PE for his kit and for another ship, JS Haruna DDH-141, also an old kit and no PE inside it. I a member of this 'ship-model building "blog"' and I do have a link that shows the steps that I did in making this kit. But I couldn't have done a "Wow"-job W/O the help of a couple of people on that site!!! I mentioned them in my Description and in my video!! They provided links and picts of the ships. This is the site that I go to often.... it 'ModelWarships.com' and if you go to their 'Forum' you can find a WEALTH of Info on MANY built/building of ships!! Here is mine for JS Shirane... www.shipmodels.info/mws_forum/viewtopic.php?f=59&t=210816 This will send you directly to my Work-in-Progress (WIP). If you want, let me know if you need photos of both JS Haruna and JS Shirane (this video is about). Look forward in hearing from you.

@@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P O M G!!! I just went to that 'Modelwarship' site and this is incredible!!! Can I contact you on that site, or do I have to sign-up to speak to people there??? Your build on JS Haruna is Amazing...... to make a Hanger Bay for such a SMALL ship must have been trying for the eyes. I going to get started on mine this Spring Break!

Very nice, That PE must be a a pain to deal with.
@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P4 жыл бұрын
To be honest, no. It could depend on the brand of PE you buy. I choose Gold Medal Models, made in USA, but there are others that I use as well, like the last two (2) posts of ships I made. The JS Haruna & Shirane, I used PitRoad PE bcuz they had a set for Those ships. It does take practice using it....get a small set of tweezers, toothpicks, Krazy Glue, and scissors that cut PE only. Hopefully this answers your question.

@@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P Hi Moe thanks for your reply can you tell me where you got the PE mast from I need one for the JMSDF Shirane Im working on. thanks.
@Hey_MikeZeroEcho22P4 жыл бұрын
@@nscaledelights , I'm sorry, but I was doing a check on that PE for That specific kit, since you asked ..... No Dice. But, just in case you want to, because the PE for Shirane does come up once in a while ( in fact I saw some a couple of months ago ), check these two (2) sites, they are from Japan, and even though the shipping delay does take awhile ( 1 - 2 months ), you'll get it! The sites I go to are: www.hlj.com/ and www.1999.co.jp/eng/plamo/ I believe you need an account on the first one, but you can purchase stuff as a "Guest"
