Merv, I noted tail number 049. I flew as crew member on the real plane at Westover AFB Mass. in 1964 and 1965. A great time in my Air Force career. Thanks for a great program.

Nice video Merv, I had heard of these planes, but was never lucky enough to see one. Back in the 1970's my uncle worked in NORAD, it was a really big deal in this area. I still live only about 40 miles from Cheyenne Mountain. I'll be looking to seeing your model finished. Thanks for sharing. Jeff

Well done review! I have one of these and I'm going to start it! I live in Tennessee and the Tennessee air guard 134th refueling wing flys the KC135 R. I am putting resin CF34 engines and Tennessee air guard decals. Thanks for letting me see how much work I have ahead 😂👍

Well thank you very much for watching! These kids are really nice when they're built but they do take some work there's definitely some challenges with gaps and fit.

Very nice video. I just bought me another version of this by AMT . This is helpful and I like the way you've explained the build.

I flew KC135s for Utah Air Guard in the 80s... Refueled the fighters at 30,000 ft..fun stuff.Back boom section insulated, nice window port to give thumbs up for pilots in jets,a 50 foot visual....We kept extra frozen left over shrimp in cases from Guam under boom are insulation.... Soon you can comfortably present your vids back into the dog house. Supurb vidio..

Do you ever use a small harber freight clamp to line those long bodies tight and strait?

You were with 151st? That is outstanding! What part of the 80s? I almost joined up in 89. By that time they were flying the KC-135E model. Somewhere I've got a picture of the nose art of City of Salt Lake as well as the wizard. The Wizard was my favorite airframe. I still have a couple of 151st patches.

Yes, I am a glutton for punishment. I have built several of these over the years and not one of them has been easy.

@@maddogmerv yes Mad 'D", but lots of folks as well im sure you, cherish the final results....I also think you should branch out too an educational channel designed for the up and running youth, spark an interest in modeling, find a good base..not sure how,but you can do it! There has to be a way ,and if the subject matter was presented, and combined with stuff at their level, and sponsers came in,etc,,,wow...just a different twist.teach em young, get them off the streets.
