Beautiful, as always! The only thing I'd like to say is that the red for the RAF roundel is actually very dark in real life. It is almost a brick red it is not nearly as bright as straight Tamiya red. A good mix using Tamiya paints is 75% flat Red (XF-7 ), 25% NATO Brown (XF-68). The blue is a bit darker, too. A good recipe is 95% flat Blue (XF-8), 5% flat Black (XF-1). For the yellow, a tiny amount of Flat Red into the flat yellow (XF-3) looks better, too. Have a close look and compare. You will see the difference immediately!

Nope, not even close. He just makes models mostly out of the box. There are guys here on youtube that add hundreds of scratch built parts to their models creating museum quality masterprices that make even Rivet Counters cry. They are completely different league :)

@@randomnickify I've not seen anyone better. Scratch building parts is one thing, producing such incredible paintwork and weathering is another. Care to link to these superior modellers you speak of? Show me a better Hurricane if you can.

@@danielhampson Off top of my head: Scale-a-ton, TOMs Modeling in Motion, RAY STUDIO, A4 Garage and entire crapton of asian modelers that left their names in kanji I cant read. Modeling is as much about scratchbuilding as painting. When I want to see painters I watch Figure painting channels. The guy is god, but calling him best, is bit of a stretch.

You are beyond doubt a master modeler. I've seen many of your videos, including some INSANE bike and warship models. My last "serious" model was a scratchbuilt double bay sea biplane (Blackburn T3 Velos) which i had been building for 2 years before it won one of the two grand prizes in my national IPMS contest (I think 1997). I did NOT have the level of patience I have seen on some your videos. Back in the day when i last held an x-acto knife (that is more than 20 years ago), I used to use *waldron products* punch and die set. It was the only tool available at the time to make perfectly round, but also perfectly FLAT, instrument dial glass. Don't know if this company is still alive, but if you find it in E-bay, go for it. You can use it for anything round, big rivets, button switches etc

I must admit I have a soft spot for the Hurricane since my first ever model kit was a 72nd scale Airfix Hurricane, and my first 48th scale plane was a Hurricane, also by Airfix. I've noticed there are a number of kit reviews and builds of this kit in recent weeks, but this is the first one I'm actually watching, and I must say I am impressed with the quality and level of detail in this kit.

Beauty. I have this one but will build the Tamiya one first.....a warm up😂. I always find your videos interesting because a lot of the shading you just wouldn't think about so thank you again. I don't have a 3D printer so would gladly pay for a set of lamp holders. I wonder about the anti glare panels on a day fighter but if they were there, they were. Great job, the Hurricane never gets the credit it deserves. Had Hawker not got it so right to start with their wouldn't have been the numbers available for the battle, and for the Poles to show us what they already knew. Thanks Poland❤️

1:34 the reason it runs into the actual piece is because it's so thin, they likely noticed it wouldn't feed enough plastic into the part. Prolly could've fixed it by resetting the paths (which can be done, but difficult) towards thicker parts of the part. Mold making is not easy, i've nothing but respect for those guys, because they have to start with basic elements, and then pile and pile and pile on until the finite part is as good as it can get, and it's not easy.

I have watched thousands of modelling videos from many different modellers. Models are made extraordinarily realistic by weathering, modifying parts, etc and you are one of the best at that. However the thing I notice with war planes is that no matter how used and "abused" they may look, I have never seen them having any bullet holes, or any other traces of heavy combat. Wouldn't it be even more realistic if they did?
